Hey yall :goodvibes

We are headin down in early October and probably gonna do a day in each park. :cool1: My question is about crowds and best days of the week at that time of year. Also, is HHN at Universal Studios only? And in October, is it every night (assume this year will be the same as last year)? If it is every night, when does it open to HHNers (and therefore become more crowded)? What time does it close for non-HHNers? If it is not every night, what nights of the week should we expect it?

We plan to stay offsite. Do we have to get there before opening to insure we will beat the lines if we want to cover most of each park in one day? Assume we will go on a slower day of the week?

AND, in October, are these parks usually more crowded on weekdays or weekends? I have seen the "Beyond Disney" recommendations, I was just wondering if they were accurate, especially in the off-season like October.

thanks!

October is a great time to come down since the weather is great and crowds are light. Just about any weekday would be fine to explore the parks. You probably would not need the Express Passes during weekdays periods and you wouldn't have to get there right at opening but it helps to get a jump on things.

We don't know anything "official" about HHN '08 yet but based on last year, the Studios will host again. HHN is staged Thursday through Sunday nights with an occasional Wednesday night thrown in. During HHN, the host park will close at 5pm and reopen around 6:30pm for HHN. Day guests must leave the park unless they are doing Stay & Scream. Universal will sweep the park to make sure the day guests are gone. You will see a noticeable increase in the crowds toward late afternoon.

Based on reading other posts, I thought I would hear from you. So, we will try to hit these parks on a weekday, and hope for the best. I suspect we will be able to do everything we want to do in 6-7 hours, so if we arrive at rope drop, we will have plenty of time to be done before the late afternoon crowds.

thanks again!

That's probably a very good plan. It's not busy during the week and you should have plenty of time to do what you want.
