Best park bag that my husband will carry :-)

#1 Family Rule. Each person carries their own things. If you can't carry it....don't take it. Even the youngest in our group at age 3 had her own back pack.
Girls are now 13 and 10. They each have a small Vera Bradley cross body purse and a string back pack that they are taking for our trip later this month. Backpack will be used for rain ponchos, coats, or snacks. I am guessing that most days they will choose to leave that behind and just take the VB purse. It will be up to them.

This is a little smaller and we are going to start having our girls take a small bag to carry their things in. My wife does not like the look of this bag. She says it looks to much like a cop bag but she also said that about my backpack.

Yoda backpack from star tours, hands down best purchase I've made in regards to disney. Its not that practical but its enough to hold the basics and I cannot tell you the amount of cast member and character interaction(mexican donald duck using force lightning in a pic with me an him I got the entire trip. And thats not even counting all the little kids who'd smile when they saw it, I intially felt stupid for spending 70 on a bag I'll realistically only use at disney world but imo it was money well spent.

From a guys point of view. I dont like carrying a bag, and if my wife tried to give me a string bag or any other huge backpack it wouldn't go over very well. On that note.

I use a Maxpedition Naotak Gearslinger. Its a medium sized back, so fits everything I need without being too large or heavy. It also fits a 50oz camelback that I use to stay hydrated.

We had a princess backpack for years that we carried at WDW - DH ended up carrying it most of the time. Once in Epcot he saw another father with the same pink princess backpack - he walked up and said "it takes a real man to carry a princess backpack" we all had a good laugh!

My husband and I both carried a RipPac Traveler Packable Daypack by Eddie Bauer last summer. They are super lightweight and come in many colors. They are on sale for $15 right now. They carry a lot, but are still small enough to set by your feet during the rides. My husband loved using this pack after bringing a big backpack for many years.

Hey we have that one too! It's super comfortable and has made two trips thus far - one to WDW, the other to DL. I like that it is so light on its own. There's nothing worse than starting with a backpack that's heavy and having to put stuff in it. I can put a water bottle, poncho, and even a hoodie in it if I want to with some room to spare.

That bag is very similar to the one I purchased and that dh ended up carrying almost exclusively without complaint Ours is a Baggalini (sp? )

OMG I think that could have been my DH he said that too!!!! DH always carries the princess backpack - he's even had the princesses autograph "his" backpack. DDs are 13 and 10 now and he has said he's not carrying the princess backpack this trip - I'm putting the odds on it that he will end up carrying the backpack next month - I believe DD13 picked out a Sophia the 1st!!!! lol

Exactly! Added bonus of the Gonex...we chose the NEON pink one so DD has NO trouble spotting us in a crowd. Folds up into itself when not in use. Love it!

CHeckout the new Vans Disney products. They have a cool gray backpack with Mickey on it. Otherwise, maybe a cool patagonia or Herschel one.

This is the bag I use (well not this color). It is the healthy back bag by Ameribag. You can usually find them on sale throughout the year and we have had no problem with throwing ponchos, camera (I used to have a Kodak easy share that was pretty big) and a water bottle in. The best is the microfiber fabric is fairly waterproof, and the tear drop shape allows you to still keep the bag crossbody on rides, just tuck it into your armpit. This also works well for wearing it under a raincoat if it get really bad weather. My husband will wear it, but he also carries my purse when shopping, and he would be the dad with the princess backpack too.

Thanks for posting the pics of other bags, I am always looking for a new "shopping" purse or travel bag.

I have an Overland Donner crossbody (seriously awesome bag) and an ancient Eagle Creek crossbody that is smaller. We carry one or both depending on plans for the day and whether my DSLR is accompanying us. One is navy blue and the other is hunter green, colors chosen specifically so DH would carry without whining. He complained at first that I was making him carry a purse but will now willingly carry either. Said he prefers them to backpacks because you don't have to take them off for rides (they just sit on the seat next to you) and they don't make his back hot.

I'll third the Gonex. I bought it last month (in orange) for our Hawaii trip next year for some hikes, but I tested it at home on a day hike and it's awesome!
