We normally don't do many shows so we are clueless. What is Spectromagic? What are the best show/parades for a 2 year old? She doens't seem afraid of noises or lights, but yoy never know.

My 2 year old DS LOVES all the parades. I think he especially like the Stars in Motorcars parade at MGM. THere are tons of characters in cool cars! Spectromagic is not to be missed! The entire parade is done up in lights!! She will love the twinkling lights and music on the floats. The cinderella float is our favorite!!! We like to get a spot for Spectromagic over near Liberty Tree Tavern. It seems that area doesnt fill up quite as fast as Main Street. Then when its over, we walk to the front of the castle for fireworks!!

Shows she might like are Beauty & the Beast live one stage, Playhouse Disney, Muppets 3-d show all at MGM

Cinderella's Surprise Celebration in front of the castle. Storytime with both at Magic Kingdom

Pocahontas and her forest friends, Lion King, Tarzen, Its tough to be a bug 3-d show... all at Animal Kindom.

She should enjoy all of those!

She'll like the Parade at AK too. I'm not sure if she'll like It's tough to be a bug. It freaked our daughter out

My 4yo dd was scared at the 3D & she is not scared of anything.
Definately watch Spectro behind the castle like AimeeM mentioned. Main St is a zoo & my dd's did not like being squished for so long waiting & we ended up leaving during Spectro cuz we could not stand another second! (Also it was about 100 degrees) Next time we will watch all parades behind the castle.

As the others have said, Spectromagic is the night-time parade in MK and all of the floats are done up in lights. Check carefully to make sure when Spectro is being put on because it isn't run every day.

My DS & DD liked the parades, though the times can be tough - the afternoon parade in MK is at 3pm, which tended to be pushing it a bit for my kids if we got to the park at opening. Likewise, Spectro is usually later in the evening, particularly when the park is open later. As they have gotten older, we've had less problems in this regard, but the last thing you want to do is try and cram yourself into a good parade viewing spot an hour ahead of time and have to give it up just before the parade starts b/c the kids are getting too tired and cranky.

As for the shows, it has really been hit or miss with us. A lot of times, I suspect, it is totally dependent upon on the kids' mindset at that very moment. Last year, for instance, they absolutely loved Mickey's Philharmagic but were totally freaked by Honey I Shrunk the Kids.

We have also had to be sensitive to the fact that DS has a real problem with loud noises. Our first trip, we tried to go to the Hoop-De-Doo Review. Five minutes into the show, DS was in tears because they lowered the lights and started the show (and if you've been there, you know it starts out really loud). This also plays into our planning with respect to fireworks - DS loves watching the fireworks, but he hates the noise, so last trip we planned several opportunities to watch fireworks from a distance (i.e. Wishes from the California Grill at the Contemporary or from the Polynesian Beach).

Spectro was truly awesome! The lights are amazing and your 2 year old should love it. My dd was 3 when we were there in Feb. and it was one of her favorite things. We would take the train to Mainstreet 15 minutes before the parade started and get a good seat right in front of the trainstation. Then, you don't have to fight your way through the crowds and have a good position to get out immediately after the parade.

The 3D shows frightened my dd who is normally not afraid of anything. After she got the point, she began to enjoy them and it ended up being one of her favorite things. Something we should have prepared her for.

Fantasmic at MGM is wonderful too and my dd was not at all scared.

Thanks for the info, we are going to check the scehdule for Spectromagic.
