I am looking for a new paper trimmer, but there seem to be way too many options out there. It doesn't really need to be portable, but I want nice, clean cuts all the way down and I don't want to have to replace the blade all the time. I'm thinking one that is a bit larger might be nice to have too. Any recommendations on what to get or what to stay away from? Thanks so much! :)

I have the Purple Cows 1040. I love love love the guillotine part, don't really like the rotary part, but have used it.

I have used a Fiskars- the grey and orange one for about 4 years now. I love it. I also use the small paper trimmer from Creative Memories for cutting my pictures- I have had that for maybe 6-7 years. I do ALOT of scrapbooking and have had no problems with either- except to change the blades on the Fiskars one. Good luck- lots of choices out there. :goodvibes

I have the Making Memories paper trimmer. I've had it for over 2 years and love it. It has a self sharpening blade and always cuts well. It's heavy and not great for taking places, but if you are just using it at home, it's great.

I have the Creative Memories personal cutter for pictures and smaller things and also the CM larger cutter/trimmer. I love them both.

I too love my CM trimmers. :thumbsup2

I have two.... I have a large Fiskars trimmer (blue and silver) that takes the triple track blades. I go through blades at a CRAZY pace... especially when I use it to trim photos.

For that reason I also got a MM trimmer. It is large and not as portable, but it has a nice self-sharpening blade. That said, I know many people on here had trouble with this trimmer. If you use Un-Du on it, it removes the ruler marks! :scared1: (although several people had good luck calling the company for a replacement) I also had the plastic paper guide break on mine a few months ago. I put it aside with the plan to call the company for a replacement part, but of course, "out of sight, out of mind"! I'll make myself a note to do it today. I do like to use it for cutting photos to save my Fiskars blades, and it is GREAT for cutting thin slivers of paper (like trimming an edge). It is expensive, but I've had mine about 3 years and the blade is still going strong. Assuming that MM makes good and sends me a new part, I would feel reasonably confident in recommending it.

Good luck...............P
