I am looking for the best overall dining experience at Epcot's World Showcase. I have heard everyone else rave about the filet at Le Cellier, but I am looking for uniqueness and even entertainment value. Food quality is important, but we are not 'food snobs' by any means!

We are interested in many places at WS, but need to narrow it down!

I've been to 2 WS restaurants recently.

I did NOT like Les Chefs de France. The service was mediocre and the food was disappointing. Remy only makes appearances for lunch.

Le Cellier had the best service by far. Jess, our "Canadian for the evening" was sweet and attentive. The steak wasn't any better than a chain steakhouse, but it was good and the setting was nice. The pretzel bread, cheese soup, and maple creme brulee are pretty awesome though.

Restaurant Marrakesh was very entertaining. They have a belly dancer and band playing intermittently. The inside is really pretty. The food was enjoyable, but nothing outstanding. Service was pretty good and the CM's were all really friendly. I think my favorite part of the meal was the Mint Tea. :rotfl:

Prices were very similar at all 3.

I would go back to Marrakesh or Le Cellier anytime for WS dining. But I'd save a lot of money at Le Cellier and just skip the steak! I was really happy with my tomato stack, pretzel bread, and maple creme brulee!

Marrakesh is a very easy to get an ADR for, even after the 180 window opens. Le Cellier, as I'm sure you know, is tough to get in to!

We love Teppan Edo for the quality of food and there is also some entertainment value as the chef cooks the food right in front of you.
Le Cellier was quite nice as well but as the PP stated no entertainment value.

Recently I've had a very good experience at the Rose and Crown. The food was good and our waitress was very friendly. We also got to sit outside a experience I've never had. It was a pleasant evening.:):thumbsup2

The Best Restaurant in any Park is Bistro de Paris, upstairs in the French Pavilion. Next to Victoria and Albert's it is probably the best dining experience on property.

Note they are not on DDP and do not have a children's menu but do honor the TiW discount.

Got to agree with CF's assessment about Bistro de Paris. :thumbsup2

We would rate Chef's de France, and Teppenyaki as being very good. A notch below them would be leCellier and Rose & Crown. On the very bottom (as in don't bother) are San Angel, Italy, China, Norway.

Of course, those are just our opinions and everybody will have a different take on things. You may want to read the dining reviews here when trying to decide. :disrocks:

We have dined at Tutto three times, each time it was fantastic

Been to Germany more times than I can count, even when it was not a buffet but menu only! Love it there!

Biergarten in Germany was awesome! We had dinner there, and at dinner they have some pretty nice entertainment. The atmosphere is terrific, it feels like you are outside but it is nice and comfy in air conditioning! The food was wonderful too. It is a German buffet but if you are not into "weird" food then don't worry! There are plenty of delicious things for people who are not as adventurous. One thing though about Biergarten, is that you sit at tables for 8 so you sit with people you don't know. We don't mind this, but of course it all depends on your dining companions as well. You may get lucky and make some new friends, you may not care for the other people at your table, or you may not even end up speaking to each other.

Rose and Crown: Outside seating by the water--very pleasant especially with a beer or two.
Chefs de France: Love sitting by the windows watching the world stroll by. We've had good luck with servers and enjoy the food (especially the creme brulee and the lobster bisque or onion soup)
Teppan Edo: A cut above "Benihana". Food was very good. One person at our table order vegetarian and it looked SO good, I was sorry that I didn't get it, too!

Happy planning:goodvibes

I have tried five of the World Showcase restaurants and rank them as follows:

1. Les Chefs de France (France): Excellent setting, decent food. Until your meal arrives, you can pretend sitting in a Parisian street cafe. Then you'll remember where you are, but you likely won't leave unsatisfied.

2. Teppan Edo (Japan): Perhaps a cut above your neighborhood hibachi joint or Benihana. The chefs are fun and the food is simple but effective.

3. Restaurant Marrakesh (Morocco): Had high expectations because I love Mediterranean food and left disappointed. The menu was boring and rather inauthentic, and the service was lacking. I wouldn't go out of my way to return.

4. Akershus Royal Banquet Hall (Norway): Quite frankly, the meal was forgettable. I liked the cold selections, but the hot items were just decent.

5. Nine Dragons (China): The one restaurant I have no intention of every trying again. Incredibly basic Chinese food at exorbitant prices. I can find infinitely better Chinese on any street corner for literally half the price of less.

Hope this helps!

Tutto Italia rates as the best non-signature dining we've experiences on property. We do love Le Cellier as well, but not quite as much. Biergarten is fun if you can catch the show and the food is usually consistent and good and hearty. Chefs de France we found disappointing - average food at best, by no means gourmet. Chefs is like a French version of Applebee's or similar, not a fancy French experience. If you want that you go upstairs to Bistro de Paris, which is the best of them all (but is not on the DDP, etc., as previously mentioned).

This was, hands down, our favorite meal of the trip!

Teppan Edo - food is good & the chef cooking in front of you provides some great entertainment

For the best overall experience, I would have to say Rose & Crown outside seating for Illuminations. A cheese plate with a bottle of wine while viewing Illuminations...well, you can't get much better! I also happen to like the food there and the service has always been excellent. Maybe I'm partial b/c I lived in London for a bit, but I love it.

We also enjoyed Le Cellier's food and Teppan Edo, but R&C for Illuminations wins for overall delightful experience.

Can you request an outside table or is it just luck of the draw? Sounds great!

There are quite a few outside tables. When you book it for a time around Illuminations, they know you are there at least in part to see the show and definitely fill up the outside tables first. We've had 5 dinners there, scheduled around Illuminations times. 4 have been outside and 1, the weekend before Christmas, was inside. Maybe they just like us, lol.

If you call dining for the reservation, you can request outside. You can request it at the podium and wait, but in either case, there is no guarantee. However, there is a special, roped-off viewing area right down on the water for R&C guests only. Your host or hostess must take you down there. So, even if you are seated inside, you can still go outside and have a great view of the show.

Teppan Edo has both wonderful food and the chefs put on a good show. We love dining here!
