Where is the best place at Disney (or Universal) to get the biggest most outrageous dessert? I know the Beach Club at Disney has a "everything under the kitchen sink" dessert that looks pretty good. Is this our best bet?

Thanks

My FH wants to order that "Kitchen Sink" dessert at Beaches n' Cream on our honeymoon. :)

Another good option is the Ghiardelli chocolate shop at Downtown Disney. I think they have a 20 scoop sundae available.

Of course, FH wants to try that one too. :)

at ghiradelli's at downtown disney, the ice cream is called an earthquake, it is your choice of 8 scoops of ice cream, 8 toppings, finished with sliced bannanas, whipped cream, chopped almonds and cherries.

the ice cream flavours available are, vanilla, chocolate, strawberry, chocolate chip, coffee, chocolate chip cookie dough, mint chocolate chip, cookies and cream, butter peacan, rocky road, espresso chip, strawberry cheesecake, blueberry cheesecake. there were also two new flavours i'm not sure what they were called but they had toffee and brownies in them.

The toppings include hot fudge sauce, chocolate syrup, caramel butterscotch, strawberry, blueberry, red raspberry, marshmallow, rock sauce and pineapple.

we tried this last time we were there and it was lovely. they even gave us an extra dish of chocolate syrup. after this we didnt think that we would eat again for a week, but as we passed the ghiradellis shop i thought i would go in and buy some christmas presents, and i was offered a free sample of the chocolates and i couldnt resist. i still can't believe we ate all that, there were three of us sharing.

I agree with the Kitchen Sink. That one is amazing. I also like the Volcano at RFC. I always get a laugh out of there presentation of thing. My daughter can't wait to get there in June for her first Volcano.

I loved the S'mores at 50's Prime Time Cafe at MGM. The dessert was huge (however, not as big as the Kitchen Sink), but very generous. It was just so sweet, gooey, over the top - can you tell I liked it!!!

We have ordered the kitchen sink from B&C and the earthquake from Ghiradelli. While you really don't have a say as to what is put into the kitchen sink (lots of gross stuff that doesn't "mix" well together) at Ghiradellli's you get to choose which ice creams and toppings you want. Much, much better IMO!!!!!!!!! (Go heavy on the fudge since that's what they're famous for!)

At Spoodles, the sampler dessert tower. Had this in May last yr and it was out of this world! This could feed 4 easily, but my husband and I polished it off!

Hmmmmmmmm--what is a volcano? I do have to say we make a special trip every visit to Prime Time Cafe for a peanut butter and Jelly shake. It's our favorite!!!

another vote for theSparkling Volcano at RFC. 5 of tried to finish one and could nto. We took 1/2 the brownie cake home with us. There were 4 huge wedges of cake with about 4 scoops of icecream. The sauces were really top quality.

SPARKLING VOLCANO - Enough for two or more! Giant rich chocolate brownie cake stacked up high, served warm with vanilla ice cream, fresh whipped cream, and topped with caramel and chocolate sauces. $12.99

As a family group of eight, we polished off the Volcano in less than five minutes!! We got the funniest pic of all of us, forks poised as we prepared to "dig in"! I have to say, my DH ALWAYS talks about that dessert whenever we talk about sweets at Disney...and that trip was three years ago!! *giggle*

This past trip (October 2002) our group did the "Kitchen Sink" as an early birthday celebration for my almost 12-year-old niece...I agree with the above poster-it was very messy and had many ingredients that didn't "mesh" (Melt?) well together. It was fun...but not really all that tasty.

Guess we'll have to do Ghiradelli's next, huh?

IVY :p

DH and I had the Volcano in March and enjoyed it. It was huge! We couldn't finish it all, that's for sure!! It's nothing really fancy...just ice cream, brownie, hot fudge and caramel, but it's really good!
