My mom, a friend and I will be at Disneyland May 18th-20th...well, we'll have tickets for the parks on Monday and Tuesday, but not Sunday.

My friend has never seen the fireworks, and I thought that since there will be fireworks on Sunday, we could hang around DTD and watch them...our hotel is on Clementine St. (we're staying at the La Quinta) and I'm pretty sure we wouldn't be able to see them from there.

I was wondering if anyone knew the best spots to watch the fireworks from outside Disneyland, and if there is possibly any areas where they pipe the soundtrack in...I'm guessing not, but it wouldn't hurt to ask!

No sound track piped in, but you would have a very good viewing of the fireworks from the HoJo on Harbor Blvd & Manchester. I stayed there in 2006 and we could hear the music ever so slightly, but we had a great view of the fireworks from the pool area. I'm sure if you stood near Mimi's Cafe (across Manchester), you would be fine!!

We've watched the fireworks from the 4th floor pool area at the Camelot Inn.:thumbsup2 (of course we were staying there):rolleyes1
No they did not pipe in the music.:sad2:

You would probabably be able to see them from the Plaza outside the entrance.

No they did not pipe in the music.

Yeah, that's what I figured...lol. I just thought that maybe there was a place in DTD or something that piped in music...unlikely, but hey, it didn't hurt to ask. ;)

Thanks for the viewing suggestions. I'll definitely keep them in mind if I decide to watch the fireworks...I just realized that they won't even be starting until pretty late, and the idea of wandering around the streets of Anaheim is just not appealing to me. lol!

Yes! The area in between DL & CA would be perfect, and you might even hear the music...I don't know for sure, since the fireworks were cancelled last Friday, but this is where DD and I were going to watch them from since we didn't have time to get from the EP in CA into DL in time. A ton of people were sitting and standing around in that area to catch them too.

I can tell you that you can view the fireworks almost everywhere. We stayed at the knotts berry farm hotel and seen them from our room on one of the top floors. We didnt go to disneyland one time that we visited LA so we parked in the downtown disney, 3 hour free parking, and stood between California and disneyland in the middle and seen the fireworks. Couldnt hear the music or see the good effects from the castle but did see most of the fireworks. If you havent seen them from inside then you dont know what you are missing but wasnt to thrilled because we seen them before inside but it is good.

Let's see, we have seen them from DTD next to the Monorail station, the Esplanade between the parks, our hotel when we stayed at the Tropicana, our room when we stayed at the HoJo (and yes, we could hear the soundtrack but it was quiet and in some places it was impossible to hear, it is not piped in) DCA from inside the park (no sound) and when we were walking around the DLH we saw them too. The only place I know of that pipes in the music is the pool at the PP so if you are staying there you can see it there! I wish I had known that, we didn't or we would have watched them from there too.
