Best Orlando Activities for Animal Lovers

We will be visiting in May, and my 12 y.o. DD loves all things animal related. She wants to be a veterinarian, and just generally loves learning about animal species. We did Disney on our last trip (and she adored AK), and plan to do Discovery Cove and Universal this time. Can anyone suggest things to do in the area for animal lovers?

If you're already doing DC, you can add Sea World & Busch Gardens fairly cheaply.

Or, for a different perspective, try a kayak tour through one of the local state parks. You can see all sorts of local wildlife, including alligators, turtles, and native birds. We went to Blue Springs state park. It was really neat, and a cool way to learn about a different ecosystem.
