I still have about 5 - 6 weeks until I can make my ADRs, but with my current plan, what order would you try (family of 4)...

  • Sun - Dinner at Ohana
  • Mon - Dinner at CRT
  • Tues - Dinner at Hollywood & Vine - fantasmic package
  • Thurs - Dinner at BOG
  • Fri - Breakfast at Akershus
  • Sat - Breakfast at Chef Mickeys

Ohana is always a good choice to start your vacation out! It's festive and relaxing. consider going out to the beach or pier after to watch the fireworks

I'd start with BOG for sure. It had the least availability when I booked this morning at 183 days out. It was 4:40 or 6:45. CRT and Chef Mickey's gave me the exact times I wanted.

BOG is for sure your priority.

Next I would usually say Ohana dinner but with the demand for Anna and Elsa, I might do Akershus breakfast second, then Ohana.

Then CM, CRT and H&V after that.

Thank you for the responses.

Is H&V with Fantasmic hard to book? When I search now, there are no spots (whereas I will find for CRT for example). But also...H&V doesn't seem to go out as far. Any idea why? Or do you need to call for these?

I'm hoping BOG will be ok....as I think it will be a MNSSHP night (so need to book for 6:55pm or earlier as we'll be attending the event another night so we won't feel rushed).

CM we'll need early as we'll be heading off to the airport afterwards.

Now I'm a bit worried about getting Akershus for breakfast since as someone mentioned, it may get busy for people booking hoping to get in line early for Anna and Elsa.

How quickly does Ohana fill up? It will be our first evening so others who have already booked 180 days + 10 may have grabbed dinner spots. Thanks for the tip about fireworks afterwards.

Wish this wasn't all so complicated. Is it generally still ok at the 180 day mark if you sign in at 6am (we're staying onsite).

Are you attending MNSSHP that night?

If so, a TS during the party doesn't make much sense, since you are paying extra $ for the party you shouldn't spend that time in a restaurant.

If not, you will need to make your ADR for earlier than 6:55, not later.

As for Ohana, yes it books very quickly. Like I said, I don't have a good sense of what is going on with demand for Akershus breakfast, so I am torn on what to say you should book second, Ohana or Akershus. Maybe another poster has some insight on that.

I have been following a thread about wait times for Anna and Elsa. People are now reserving times for Akershus just to get in early and get in line for them. I have seen many people say they are making reservations for 2 and don't plan on showing up they will just get in line for A&E. They are just going to pay the $20 no show charge. So if you want to eat at Akershus you will probably have to make that a priority now. It is frustrating because we enjoy Akershus and like to eat early and before I never had a problem getting a reservation there. Last year I got one 30 days before without a problem and the restaurant wasn't full.

Curiosity got me with this post (and a slight nudge I'd been feeling about O'hana) So, I just checked to see if I could still get an O'hana dinner reservation on a particular Wed. night I haven't booked yet, which is only 5 months and 4 days away and I was still able to get either a 5:15 or 8:00 pm.

No. The plan is...
  • Thurs - MK ending the day with BOG before 7pm (and then leave the park)
  • Fri - Epcot for the day, head over to MK 4pm or later to attend MNSSHP

As for Akershus...yeah, that's actually quite inconsiderate to take up ADR spot, knowing you're going go to cancel. My DD LOVES Frozen and would go crazy to see them, but we're not standing in line for 3-5 hrs...nor is one of us going to miss out on breakfast to do so.

From my experience, I'd probably do this order:

(1) Dinner at BOG
Especially, if you want a prime time, and not early (before 5p) or late (after 9p)

(2) Three way tie:

Dinner at CRT
Especially, if you want a prime time, and not early (before 5p) or late (after 9p)

Breakfast at Chef Mickeys
If you want a prime slot, like before 9a. If you're more flexible on time slot (i.e. eat at 9a or 10a), this drops one spot.

Breakfast at Akershus
If you want an 8 or 805a, slot, this ranks pretty high. Especially now that ppl make this reservation for seeing Elsa/Anna.

(5) Dinner at Hollywood & Vine - fantasmic package
Especially, if you want a prime time, and not early (~3p). The latest slot I've seen is around 6/630p or so, depending on park hours.

(6) Dinner at Ohana

And I would be online as well as on phone with Disney dining. That helps because you're doing two reservations at once. Just my opinion, though. :)

I've seen some odd behavior with Fantasmic Dinner Pkg reservations. Originally, I was able to book at 180 days for my June trip. But when I went in last month to try to book another night, nothing past 60 days was showing on the website!

I might call at 180 days out to book this one.

As you know, MDX acts up. I've had trouble booking Park Fare for dinner for the past 6 months. A lot of nights, no time slots show up at 180; even Disney CM cannot book anything, but the restaurant is not closed for refurbishment or private event. And then tons of slots show up 60 or 90 days out.

(1) Yes...for BOG, would want anywhere between 5pm and 6:55pm
(2) Yes...for CRT, would want prime time for young kids (between 5pm and 7:30pm)
Chef Mikeys, would want 8am-8:30ish as we'd have to leave for the airport afterwards (2pm flight)
Akershus - more flexible but still want to eat normal breakfast time as we have young kids used to a schedule
(5) H&V - regular dinner hour before fantasmic
(6) - Also standard dinner hour between 5:30pm and 7pm
