We have a flight arriving at 10:30 p.m. on 12/20/19 and not really wanting to wait around for a DME bus to pull up, leave and get us to resort. We have no interest in renting a car. What is the best/quickest option to get from airport to Beach Club?

I agree, not a fan of DME to the Beach Club or renting a car. Not sure what is best/quickest - my guess would be a Minnie van but I haven't done one of those to/from MCO (I think they're $150). We're using Transportation by Mike this trip ($75 + tip). I used a Lyft our last trip to get from the resort to MCO ($40+ including tip) - these don't usually have booster or car seats though which is limiting.

Quickest: Arrange for a town car ahead of time. I recommend Tony Hinds. The driver would be waiting for your at baggage claim, you can arrange booster/car seats ahead of time if needed, and most will do a short grocery stop between MCO and your resort if desired. This would be the most expensive.

After that, I'd look at Uber/Lyft.

Then I would choose a taxi.

Any specific reason? Or is it just a general dislike of DME or something about taking the DME to the EPCOT area resorts? Just doing some trip planning and like to hear lots of opinions. Thanks!

I love DME for the luggage delivery service (and I'd love it if Disney found a way to charge for the luggage delivery as a stand alone service). I don't like waiting for the bus to fill up and then the possibility of multiple stops. Didn't mind it last year when we were staying at ASMo. Our bus filled quickly and even though we were the last stop, it was fairly quick.

With regards to BC, I took it there once and felt like we made so many stops before arriving at BC. It just didn't have that deluxe resort feel to it. It's basically the same issue I have with the deluxe resort bus service to the parks. It's not a huge deal. I'm happy to pay for Lyfts and the occasional Minnievan to avoid the busses. I'm glad Disney has options that suit most vactioners needs and their wallets.

Quickest without advance planning: A regular taxi. Walk out to the curb, get in one, and away you go.

Actually it would be a tossup -- if one party booked a towncar to meet them at the airport and another party went out and grabbed a taxi -- which party would get to the resort first.

Best way, not including the choices that the OP ruled out, and methods similar: Uber, Lyft, or similar.

How many people? Are any of them children that need a car seat or booster?

No car seats or booster needed, a kid who will just have turned 13, mysealf and hubby. No baggage either other than 2 large carry-ons. I shouldn't be so intimidated by airports I'm not familiar with, but I'm used to going the DME route and on the home side, we always plan to have car services waiting for us ahead of time.

For one way plan on around $75 for a town car. Not including tip.

Thank you - wondering though, does Uber/Lyft come to the airports in Orlando (they dont come to airports in NJ that im aware of)? Or yellow taxis/towncars are only options?

We have used Park Avenue Limousines for our Orlando transfers for years. They are super friendly and reliable. If you use a private car service, your driver will be waiting for you near your baggage carousel, escort you to the ground level of MCO (where the authorized private car services park their cars) and take you straight to your resort.

I would just take a Lyft or Uber then

Yes, Uber and Lyft can pick up and drop off at ALL airports in Florida. In 2017, the Florida Legislature passed Florida's rideshare law which got rid of local "regulation" and established stringent statewide standards for rideshare companies.

There are a number of compamore that will do exactly this. Just Google "luggage delivery service".

Thanks I’m aware of such services. I don’t want to ship my bags. I just want to pay an extra fee to use the MDE luggage delivery service without having to take a MDE bus. I think Disney is missing a portion of the market that is fine with checking bags but annoyed with collecting them. I admit this is not a serious problem.:o

You can. No extra fee involved. Not at 10:30 PM though (no one can)
