OK all you discount gurus out there I have a question....

Planning on a May 7-13th visit next year. That would mean 6 nights. I will be booking the package and nonrefundable airfare this fall - most likely before any deals come out. Here is my worry.... next year's discount is something like a buy 4 nights get 3 free.... but I will have already booked my airfare for 6 nights - and won't be able to change to a 7 night reservation.... Will I be able to get two nights free??? I really didn't want to plan 7 nights - what if there is no code or a % off dicount? What would you do?

In the past you were allowed to stay 5, 6, or 7 nights and just pay for 4 (or 5at the values), so I don't see that changing. It's a better bang for your buck to get three free nights instead of two, but when flights are involved it's hard and expensive to change them.

Traditionally the Sunday after Easter has begun the "regular season" period, so for 2011 that would be May 1 if Disney sticks to the past seasonal schedule.

It's hard at any time to predict what the promotions might be. I've seen as much as the 4/7 promotion, and as little as a pass upgrade (pay for a basic pass, get the PH and WPF&M options free) on a package or a small % off room discount during that time perdiod. Since it's harder to fill rooms after the Easter break but before most schools let out there is usually some kind of discount, but Disney has said the discounts will not be as prevalent or as deep going into their new fiscal year that starts on Oct. 1.

With Disney, all things are changable. But if the past is any indication there might be some promotions to fill rooms for the time you are going. Just no way to know for sure until it's announced.

thanks for the info tinkabelle.... I think that I will stick with my 6 day plan then. I have been reading about less discounts in the future. But it won't stop me from going!! Just maybe where I am staying :)

Off topic rant - I am kind of annoyed about the limited discounts. I am not really why they are doing it. People aren't amazingly going to be able to spend more next year - the economy is still not great. You would think that maybe they would keep rates the same and then not offer discounts - but raising them and no discounts I would think that is going to lead to lower $$ spent. Who am I though. Just someone totally off topic!!!

I'm thinking they may be doing one discount at a time rather than 2 or three. Right now, there are 2 different discounst for the same time. If they publish room only rates for the fall, which they probably will, then there will be three.

So I'm hoping for them to pick 1 discount and leaving the package rates the same.

A girl can dream.
