We will be staying an a GV at OKW next month...have stayed in several locations around the resort before and really like the South Point area best for walking access to SSR spa/fitness and peace and quiet. Has anyone ever stayed in Building 53 in a GV or other sized unit? Or perhaps in another GV close by? How was it? Have those units been updated recently? Any suggestions or feedback? THANKS!!

I'd suggest requesting an "area" or view when you're staying in a limited type of villa (like a GV). If you request a specific building or room # and it's not available for your check in, they won't know what you're really looking for.

If you like South Point, that's the request I'd make - there are several GVs in that area.

All of the OKW villas have been rehabbed at least once, but it is an ongoing process and they always seem to be doing something in one building or another - so I wouldn't base requests on that schedule at all.

Have a great trip! :)

Our favorite GV was in building 15. Now I LOVE the South Point area, but a GV is a GV, and they are all magnificent!

Thanks! I am in total agreeement about requesting an area rather than a specific villa so we requested SouthPoint when we made the ressie last year...but sometimes I am offered a couple of options for specific buildings when I check in (yes, very rare, but it has happened!) so I just wondered if anyone preferred any particular location of their GV over any other. This will be my 2nd GV stay at OKW and, yes, those spacious and airy villas are wonderful no matter where they are! I'll let you know how it goes when we check in one month from today!

I stayed in a GV in building 48 and thought that was a great location. It's also near the South Point bus stop.

I also stayed in a GV in Bldg 48, and loved it there! It's right by the bus area, when the bus passed our room, we headed out to the bus stop. By the time it went down, and turned around, we were waiting at the bus stop. Bldg 48 also has a wonderful golf course view, in case you have any golfers in the family. And the pool is just two buildings away.;)

We've been lucky enough to have GV's 4 times, once in 53 & twice in 48 and the last time in 15. I have no complaint about any of them. They all had peaceful and beautiful views but bldg 15 is very convenient to the Hospitality area and easily accessible by foot, so that's a plus. I've never requested one bldg in particular and to date have never been disapointed. Good luck to you, I'm sure you'll enjoy no matter which bldg. you end up in!

Great to get good reviews for all of those GV locations. My only other stay in a GV was a few years ago and I requested to be close to HH (before it was a booking category). Lo and behold, we were assigned to Building 49 which is pretty much as FAR from the HH as one could possibly be! However, I now use this story as a testimonial as to why we should not all be so hung up on getting all our requests...the location worked out perfectly for our group, even though it was not all what I had in mind. So, I intend to be open minded this time too but appreciate getting feedback on some specific locations others have enjoyed. Thanks, y'all!
