What offsite hotel has the best themed pool area? Any with waterslides? For my family, the quality of the pool area is a very important factor in selecting a hotel. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Hi there!

I'm not aware of ANY themed pools in the Disneyland area other than the nice Peter Pan pool at the DL Hotel. That said, the Anaheim Hilton has a nice pool, kind of like a courtyard, and is a lovely hotel, huge and busy.

Have a *magical* trip!!!

Gracie,

Have you stayed at the Hilton? Is the walk to the park entrances "do-able" with a child? Our reservations are at the DLH but I'm thinking of changing at least part of the trip -- possibly to adjoining rooms at the Hilton, because it's so much less expensive. Can you tell me how the room size compares DLH vs. Hilton??

Thanks!!

Westcoast Anaheim has a nice pool It is 'L' shaped, with one part of the L being 10 feet deep so the kids can jump and dive. It has had a pool bar for cocktails and some basic finger foods. A big hot tub and plenty of lounge furniture! I did a review of this hotel on the disneyland trip report board. Look for Disneyland Area Hotel Reviews.
Also, would not say the hilton is an easy walk to the main gates, esp. with kids. The hilton was beside the westcoast anaheim, and it appeared nice, but did not have balconies. Don't know how important a balcony is to you, but to me it is! I am sure the hilton has a good shuttle anyway. Who wants to walk all that way to start the day sweaty and hot?? Take an air cond. shuttle over and back!

The Hilton does have a lanai level on the 5th floor that doesn't have balconies, but it does have a walk-out to the pool/courtyard area. I guess my question about whether it was "walking distance" was really more to get a sense of how far it is, rather to to really decide if it's practical to walk there and back a few times each day. I'm wondering more if you get the "feel" of being at Disneyland when you stay at these close off-site hotels. Can you see the fireworks at night, if you're facing north from the Hilton, can you see much of DCA during the daytime....that sort of thing.

Hi again!

The Hilton isn't really "walkable" with a small child--it isn't really far (across from the Marriott, which is also quite nice), but when you're traveling with a little one, you want to save your walking for Disneyland! However, they have a GREAT shuttle which runs quite often and is very efficient.

The rooms the Anaheim Hilton & Towers are nice and large. To give you an indication of its quality, it gets a lot of corporate travelers on big expense accounts! One negative would be that since the hotel is so huge, it can be a trek just from the parking garage! Also, you do have to pay for parking. I have not stayed at the Westcoast Anaheim (mentioned above) but also have read great things about it, and might try it on my next trip soon.

Your little one is going to love Disneyland--especially Fantasyland! :pinkbounc

I really enjoyed the Hilton rooms. Very large.
I thought the pool area was kind of ordinary. I would not recommend the hotel
on the strengths of the pool. THere is a large indoor pool in the hotell also.

For a nice pool check out the Neverland Pool at the Disneyland Hotel.
