Boy, the pics of some of these pools look small......

We are going to just hang out at the hotel one day, so can anyone recommend a place with an awesome pool, near Disney?

Thanks!

Well, not exactly near Disney but I see your siggie about Harry Potter. Onsite hotels at Universal are beautiful, 4* and comparable to Disney deluxe, and within walking distance to the parks. They all have huge pools but we like the Hard Rock Hotel the most. It's huge and has a slide and also dive in movies on certain nights.
Best part is that you simply show your room key to bypass the regular lines. It's like having an unlimited fast pass. :cloud9:

Can't wait to go!:hourglass

We've stayed at the JW Marriott, Reunion, Bonnet Creek and the Omni. All of them have a great pool scene, but my favorite is the Omni.:)

The Lazy River, children's play pool and zero entry are all great features. They also have new pools in the newer sections of the resort which I think have a pirate ship theme. We spent lots of time at the pools when we stayed there twice (swim up movies twice a week too).

Of course, you have to be staying there to enjoy them...you can't access them unless you're a guest...

Their pools DO look awesome, don't they??? We are staying at RPR, but not until grand opening. We had a bit of a mishap with our reservations, changing the dates, and are paying more now, so we needed an offsite place to stay beforehand that is CHEAP!
I ended up bidding on Priceline, which was very scary, and got the Sheraton Safari. Amusingly, it has this python snake slide that's like 50 feet long....the kids should like that, huh???!!!??

But, yes, EXCITED about our Universal stay!!!!! We will have to check out HRH's pool, too!

We spent one night at Sheraton Safari when we had a Sunday check in for our timeshare. It was ok but not up to typical Sheraton standards imho. I wouldn't have minded spending more time there at all though. We never got to use the pool but it looked nice and kids wanted to try out the big slide. Basically checked in, went to DTD/Cirque show, got up in the morning, and headed to SW. They did have a nice breakfast buffet with made-to-order omlettes. Dh liked that. It's very close to DTD which is why I chose it.

RPR is beautiful and has a lovely path leading to the parks. Normally my kids would whine to have to walk when they could otherwise ride but that is one walk we all enjoy. The landscaping and atmosphere is so pretty, we rarely use the water taxis. We did buy APs just to get the good hotel rates. It's a bit steep without them. They have paid for themselves but bought when Costco had a special for buy 1 yr, get the 2nd free and renewals are not as high as original. We're squeezing one more trip in just before they expire and won't renew. 3 yrs is enough to get our fill.

They do allow pool hopping too! :thumbsup2

Have fun! :goodvibes

Try booking the Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress through 1800 Hotels. We did this over the Easter break for around 104/nt. The pool, beach and resort activities were amazing! :thumbsup2
