We are going to be staying in Orlando the last week of April, 2010 and are trying to stay in the best 2 bedroom accommodations for my wife and me and our 2 teenage boys. We know we can get a good setup in a number of places for $120/nite or less before taxes. At this point we want to find the best place to stay for that amount of money. We really like the resort-like places with pools, restaurants etc. We have stayed at most of the deluxe resorts on-site over the years, but at this point the boys are bigger than me and we tried a 2 bedroom at Vistana last time out and were really pleased.

At this point (thanks to this forum) I’ve seen:

Many nice 2 bedrooms condos at Windsor Hills for $100/nite
Westgate Lakes Resort and Spa 2 bedroom villa for $114/nite
Bonnet Creek 2 bedrooms for $120/nite
No Housekeeping rates at Vistana for under $100/nite (not available thru April yet, but my guess is they will be available in that range at some time)

I’m a little concerned about going through owners given the amount of foreclosures I’m hearing about but I think we could work though that by using some owners that are well thought of on the board. I think we would like more of a resort-type place than WH at this point, but I’m sure we’d be fine there.

I’d guess there are other people looking at the same type of accommodations in the same price range. If so please share any great deals you are finding. I will post any others we come across. If any owners out there have anything please let us know.

Thanks

We just reserved a 2BR/2BA at the Lake Buena Vista Village & Resort, which is located near the corner of Hwy 535 and Toll Rd 417. It is directly behind the Lake Buena Vista Factory Stores. We are paying right at $120/nt for 5 days over Thanksgiving week. I have never stayed at the resort, but it has received excellent reviews on Tripadvisor and Expedia. What sold us on this hotel besides the reviews is that LBVVR&S has 2 baths, at lot of the other 2 BR's we looked at have only 1 BA, and the newness of the resort. It opened in 2005. It also has a good location for us, we are planning on going to Universal and do other things around Orlando before moving to BWV's for the last part of our trip. I started a thread on this board for for opinions on this resort, but haven't gotten any replies yet.

Good luck on your search.

I highly recommend Bonnet Creek Resort. It has everything you're looking for, EXCEPT the restaurants. It only offers quick-serve (pizza, hamburgers, sandwiches) poolside and at the main bldg. However, it is about a 3 min. drive to Downtown Disney, so all of those restaurants are very close. The villas are Tuscan-themed and just beautiful. We will be staying here for the 2nd time in just a couple of weeks. We book through Ken Price www.vacationupgrades.com.

Thanks very much. They are $99 a night for our week. We'll check them out.

We have always stayed at Royal Parc Suites in Kissimmee and found it to be a great value. They have 2 bdrm, 2 bath suites that are normally under $100. I just got in on a special, so we are paying about $96/nt (tax and fees included) for the 2 bedroom. If you check frequently, or get on the mailing list, you will be notified of price drops. Here's the link if you are interested:

They also have a nice continental breakfast, and evening managers reception at the pool (both free). Its in a nice location too....lots of food and shopping, along with Old Town. :thumbsup2 As I said before though, if they don't have the rate you are hoping for, just wait a week or so and check back.
Good Luck!

If you know someone with an Interval International account, you can book a getaway at Marriott's Grande Vista or any other Marriott for $120 a night plus taxes. A little over your target.

Grande Vista has the ultimate resort feel. A full service on site restaurant (Nick's Grill), two bars that also serve food, and an on-site food court that has rotisserie chicken and a Pizza Hut Express just to name a few things.

Thanks, that's exactly what we are looking for. I don't know how that would work though. Can they give us a referral to some kind of promotion?

Getaways are "extra" weeks available to Interval International members. Orlando usually has plenty of them available year round. Usually much cheaper (we have bought 2BRs for less than $50 per night), but since you are looking at an April week this far out, the prices are higher. The daily rate I quoted is based on a seven night stay and you would have to check in on a Thur, Fri, Sat, Sun, or Mon.

There is no promotion really, these weeks are just available for members to buy. If you know one they could let you buy one through their account. You would have to use your CC to pay for the transaction for it to meet II member rules.

We have stayed at Lake Buena Vista Resort and Spa and it is very nice!! The pool was nice and there is a Resteraunt at the enterance. It is a great value.

You could probably even stay in a 3 bedroom townhouse at Windsor Hills within your price range. We did that our first trip to Disney and really enjoyed it. We're going back this year with a larger group and staying in one of the 6 bedroom homes. Good luck with your search!
