we will be coming back from a cruise on 12/30 and departing WDW either 1/1 or 1/2. We have been to WDW many times. What is our best NYE plan for 3 kids (12, 13, 16)?
We don't want to fight the crowds in WDW parks. We also have Univ tickets--but that seemed like it would be just as jammed.
Do any of the DVC still do anything fun? What about the Boardwalk area? DTD? Ft. Wilderness?

How about Downtown Disney or Disney Quest. They have had DJ's before.

The BW Village Green area has a party. We entered Epcot, but it was announced that they would be piping in the Illuminations music at fireworks time in the party area. This was 2 years ago.

I think DHS on NYE is Disney's Best kept Secret.

Hanging out on the beach at the Polynesian to watch Wishes may be fun but I think maybe even doing your own party in your room would be a blast!

My DS (16) and his DF (17) are doing the Disney Quest that evening. The rest of us DD(23) and DD(19) and my husband and I were thinking of Splitsville in DTD.

We are headed back again this year for six nights around NYE.

For 2009/2010 NYE we had a nice dinner at Shula's Steakhouse. Played a round of mini golf at the area accross the street from Swan/Dolphin, spent some time walking the boradwalk, watching the entertainment and having a few drinks from the street bars. Then we walked down to DHS to watch the midnight fireworks from outside the gates. By the time we walked back to Yacht Club everyone was ready for bed. It was an enjoyable and memorable NYE! Enjoy.

We are staying at OKW so I am thinking it would be just a boat ride back.
