My boy is not a big fan of red meat but he does want to go to Le Cellier for a few reasons-- 1) See if the hype is worth it 2) Pretzel bread 3) The soup

So I figured I'd ask all the intelligent DIS fanatics on your opinion so we can see if it's worth going... If everything besides the steak is crappy, you can say that too!

I've had the Salmon Two Ways, liked one way better than the other. It was just OK, won't order it again. Salmon entress at other Disney restaurants I've had were much better. Haven't tried any other fish, or the chicken or the gnocchi.

If you pay for his meal OOP, there is no problem ordering just a bowl of soup, pretzel bread, and maybe a side (their mac & chesse is good) and dessert. The soup is pretty filling, and I've ordered just soup and dessert a few times myself for lunch or a light supper.

If you're on the DDP just save his credit for something else. During FD most resort CS will let you use a TS credit for a CS meal if there are no more TS ADRs to use his credit on, but ask first.

ive had the salmon both ways and the hoisin salmon was absolutely delicious, the other one, not so much. if i could order both of the pieces to be prepared the hoisin way, i totally would. the fish was moist and the portion was quite large.

I had this too, and it was really good. I thought about asking to have them both the Hoisin way next time I go. I loved it. I actually scraped the other stuff off the other one and dipped that salmon into the hoisin sauce that was left. I am definitely not a steak person so I wouldn't have steak there anyway.

DH & I went to Le Cellier for lunch last December. I just ordered the cheddar cheese soup and a salad - yum! I also enjoyed one of each of the three kinds of bread sticks including the pretzel bread. DH ordered a salad & the filet entree which he let me sample. Neither of us needed any dessert. We were full. We paid OOP for all dining that trip.

I'm personally not a fan of the gnocchi. Normally I LOVE gnocchi, but I found the pesto sauce to be overwhelming. Just way too much.

This is exactly what I did...asked for salmon "one way" (I did have it two ways the time before and only liked the Hoisin version)...salmon is very good, steak is just well, steak so I usually look for something different.

I've heard you can make a meal of JUST the cheddar cheese soup and the salad, and be plenty satisfied! That's what my aunt says, and they go at least once every trip!

My vote for the Pan-seared Scallops. DMIL had this last December, and it was quite good! See entry in my December TR for picture! Honestly, the least appealing portion of the meal was the steak. It was good...but everything else was delicious. (The crab cake appetizer was also excellent, so might be a good substitute for a lighter meal.)
