Hi!

We will be arriving late in the day on May 17th and staying a different place than our "permanent" place. (We are renting a home in The Emerald Island) and it will not be ready until 4:00 and check out time that morning is 10:00, so we need to fill 6 (LONG) hours with 5 kids!

Yes, I DID plan..but plans change! :) We decided to fly in a day early..you know, the longer the better at Disney!

Anyway, I thought maybe we could have a "disney experience" for lunch so we realize we are ACTUALLY there and not just dreaming! We will hit the parks bright and early on the 19th, and don't want to use our passes, but thought maybe eat at a resort restaurant!

Any suggestions would be great!

Thanks!

Ali

I really like a late Calif. Grille ADR on arrival day, so you can watch Wishes and get a beautiful view of the castle, MK, lagoon, and possibly the water pageant as well. Double-check fireworks times for your dates, and plan to arrive for ADRs anywhere from an hour previous to Wishes start time (they will let you go up and wait on the deck if your ADRs are close to fireworks time).

D'Oh! I guess I didn't read you wanted LUNCH! Sorry! How about Kona Cafe at the Poly? Then you can ride around on the Monorail and get into the whole Disney aura.

For lunch? Hmmmm.....maybe Beaches 'N Cream (ice cream sundaes and burgers/sandwiches) at the Beach Club or WCC at WL (I don't care for the food or the "antics" but some people love it). Or Kona Cafe at Poly. To tell you the truth I've never eaten lunch at any of the resorts so I'm not sure which restaurants serve lunch and which just serve breakfast & dinner or just dinner. I have lots of fantastic dinner options for you though :).

How 'bout this? Plan on eating lunch at one of the monorail resorts - CR, Poly, or GF.

At CR, you've got the Food and Fun Center if you're in fast food mode, or the Concourse Steakhouse, which, along with Beaches and Cream, has the best burgers on property.

At the Poly, there's the Kona Cafe, blessedly quiet for lunch, or Capt. Cooks for snacks.

And, at the GF, there's the Grand Floridian Cafe ... one of the best WDW sandwiches is their Grand Sandwich (if it's still available), or Gasparilla Grill and Games for counter service.

The, when you've finished lunch, you can ride the monorail to the other resorts, and let the kids play on the various playgrounds, walk along the lakeshore, visit arcades, whatever.

I just booked an ADR @ Grand Floridian Cafe..just seemed liked it would work best with everyone's tastes!

Then we will ride the monorail along the resort loop...and just breathe that Disney air!! We can choose to get off at the different resorts..or just ride "the best ride in all of Disneyworld" (according to dd and ds!)

I can't hardly wait! Thanks again!

How about a late breakfast instead. We are doing Ohana breakfast with sitch at the Poly and have resevations at 10:50am even though it is breakfast we'll just skip lunch that day.
