Best (Non Character) Restaurant For Kids

My family and I are getting bored with the character meals. It all seems like the same food over and over. So we're looking for a few different table service restaurants.

I have a 6 year old and a 2 year old. Do you have any suggestions for a fun dining experience the kids may like?

'Ohana and WCC both have kid activities (parade around the restaurant) during the meal and are fun for kids.

Ohana - coconut race, hula dancing
sci fi - eat in car, watch film clips
Whispering Canyon - pony rides, hokey cokey dancing

Done all of the above with DD 4 and are repeating them this trip

Not done

Biergarten - band, dancing for kids like birdie song
50's prime time - eat in 50's kithen, pretending to be faimily meal - setting table, adults 'forced' to eat veg
Teppan edo - cooks in front of you does tricks for kids

1:Sci-fi
2:Mexico ( calming atmosphere great ride for kids)
3:Rose & crown
4:Whispering Canyon
5:Cosmic rays
the list goes on, but you get the idea.

my kids love whispering canyon cafe, the pony stick races, screaming for ketchup, drinks in jars, Lincoln logs play area, super long straws so they had to stand on the chair to drink.
it helps that wilderness lodge is a gorgeous place to visit

My kids enjoyed Biergarten, Sci Fi, Ohana, The Wave, Whispering Canyon, Coral Reef, Rose and Crown, Tutto Italia and LeCellier. The only non-character TS meal that they didn't really enjoy was Liberty Tree Tavern.

The Hoop dee doo Musical Review at Fort Wilderness is also great for kids. My kids were 4 and 1 when we went and both had a blast.

We have 4 and 2 year olds and they love 'Ohana and Coral Reef. 'Ohana had a bunch of different activities going on during the meal that kept the kids entertained. The kids loved eating "with the fishes" at Coral Reef.

I agree...also 50's Prime Time, Ohana's, Whispering Canyon and Teppanado.

Mother of 4 here. My dd was very nervous in Rainforest Cafe when she was in the 2-3 yr old age range. My other 3 kiddos weren't the least bit bothered by the atmosphere but Anna was not a fan during those years. Now at 5 she loves it! My girls (3 and 5) love the California Grill, granted they enjoy the dressing up process before arrival. They also enjoy Beaches and Cream, 50's Primetime (they love it when the servers scold their brothers (18 and 20), Whispering Canyons (some adults are put off by the wait staff), and Ohanas.

I think Sanaa does a really good job with its kids' menu. It's not the usual stuff, for the most part, and when it is, they don't just take it out of the freezer and nuke it. Also, you have African animals outside. My DD6 and DD3 loved that aspect this year.

Did anyone mention Trex cafe in DTD? My kids love it.

My 4yo son loved Teppan Edo. The food was cooked right in front of the table and he loved the show. He also loves eating in the cars at Sci-Fi and enjoyed Whispering Canyon.

Tepan Edo (favorite for the kids and adults in our house; personal chef keeps the kids attention and we all love the food)

Whispering Canyon-- great kids activites and the waitresses are funny
Ohana-- coconut rolling and amazing food
Boma-- great food, even for kids

DD (8) loves Tony's. You can't go wrong with kids and spaghetti

We went last March with our kids who were 2, 5 and 6 at the time and they loved all these places! WCC we had done on a previous trip and they liked that too.
