We are currently staying in a garden/pool 2 Bedroom Unit in December. I have heard of many different view from Village Green to Courtyard to Canal view. Just curious which is the best to request. Are Village Green and Courtyard the same thing? Any suggestions would be appreciated. Also if somebody knows all the different pool/garden views and could break it down that would be great!

We like the large keister Coaster pool(yes with the clown face) and we always ask to be on the highest floor available with a Keister coaster view - we often can see ToT and parts of the swan and dolphin also some of the socerrors hat.

There was a thread by DVC Mike that had a photo of the resort that showed the different views.

I believe I found it by searching "BWV Views Standard Preferred".

The only thing I am confused about is the photo shows (and I remember) three
view classifications, however our point charts now only have two - Preferred and Standard.

I don't think there are any 2 bedroom units, only studios, that are Village Green view (the small red piece between the blue and green). The lowest red section overlooks the quiet pool, the middle one overlooks the main pool and the upper left one faces the canal that goes to DHS. You could request whichever of these views seems best to you.

NJ Goofy: Water/Garden and BW views are the same number of points but the rooms are in separate booking categories.

How do you do

Everyone has their own opinion when it comes to views. I would prefer to be on the ground floor near the main pool with the Keister Coaster and close to lobby. The time I spend at the resort is usually much needed time for R, R & M, (Rest, Relaxation and Margaritas). By the end of the day my feet are sore and my legs are tired. So the closer the room is to the lobby or pool the better. As far as elevators go It can be time consuming having to ride them every trip in and out of your room, unless you are staying at the HToT that is.

The points chart has 2 point columns but if you look at the headings, there are 3. One is S for Standard, the second is B/P which is Boardwalk and Preferred. It used to be boardwalk and preferred pool/garden was just listed as preferred and it was the luck of the draw who got which view. About 5 years ago they started booking them separate even though they were the same points cost. That way you know up front which view you are getting, eliminating alot of problems at check-in.

They did that at the same time they got rid of room assigners. It used to be that room assigners would assign rooms pretty much in the order the reservation was made. So people making earlier reservations requesting "Boardwalk View" almost always got it, while people making later reservations didn't.

They got rid of room assigners and went to the "infamous" room ready. And for three weeks all heck broke loose at the Boardwalk front desk. We checked in for our first stay shortly after that period and heard some stories from the front desk. People camping out to be the first there to "first serve" the Boardwalk rooms.

They created a booking category and went back through the Boardwalk "requests" that were out there from the previous bookings and assigned them out.
