I have read in one place that Sunday nights have the smallest crowds for MNSSHP and than others that say a week night is better. Trying to decide on either Sunday, October 16 or Thursday, October 20. (We are arriving on the 15th and departing on the 22nd). We (wife, myself and DDs 7 and 11) have never done MNSSHP before so could use any and all help!

THANKS, in advance!

I think it's a toss up. They are both 'school' nights so not as crowded as a Friday night party and neither are Halloween night so I'd do whichever night fits into my schedule best.

I don't know that I can answer your question, but I can tell you that our family has attended MNSSHP twice on Halloween, when it is sold out, and found the crowds pretty manageable. We walked on several of the big attractions!

We noticed crowds when waiting to get our family picture taken, in Toon Town and at the parades.

So, I guess I would agree with beattyfamily, go whichever night fits your schedule best! And don't fear huge crowds!

The least crowded night for MNSSHP will be the very first date, which this year is Sept 30, the night we'll be attending!!!!
We went last year as well on the first night, and the park was extremely manageable. After the fireworks, MK was a complete ghost town!!! You could ride any ride and stay on (splash mountain, big thunder, etc..). It was great.
We each had 2 FULL bags of candy, and when we went up to the trick or treat booths between 11:30 & 12:00, the CMs were giving you full bags of candy. It was CRAZY!!!! No cavities though :teeth:
On our way out we were able to take a picture from in front of the train station straight down Main Street to the castle without a single head in the picture. A CM told us we should take a couple of the pics as its not everyday you see Main St like this.....She's right.
Anyways, the longest wait on the first night would be the POP bus line. Man did I feel sorry for the people in that line. It went through all the bars, out and past the All star bus lines. It easily took most of those guests over an hour to get back to the resort.
