I plan on making my Dec 16 3 day cruise reservations really soon (income tax refund on the way :D ) and have decided on the Navigator's Verandah. I've poured throough all the travel sites including Expedia and Travelocity and it looks like there are still a number of open rooms of this category.

But, what deck and what room? I do have a son who'll spend time at the Oceaneers lab and we don't like a lot of noise when we are trying to sleep (then again who does?).

Any recommendations?

I would say deck 5...I am a major deck 5 fan, and I always stay aft, down the hall from the nav verandah rooms. Because the movie theater and kids clubs are located on this deck, it is not a long endless sea of rooms, which cuts down on general foot traffic. The farther aft you stay, the less traffic you will hear. We stay in 5650, the very last guest stateroom on the starboard side. It is a cat. 6 and there is no stateroom across from it, so the hallway is virtually silent. I would choose a nav verandah as far aft as possible. The kids clubs and movie theater do not add any noise on this deck because they are separated from the guest rooms.
