Could you help us find THE BEST non character meal restaurants for kids. Don't get us wrong we LOVE character meals, but we have already selected a bunch that we want to do. We will be on the DxDP this time and want some restaurants that are fun or just really unique for the kids, something we can't get at home. Thanks for your help!

That would be a great place to eat..My reason....Well I participated in Dive Quest and had the absolute pleasure of being on the other side of the tank. Man you should see the children's faces when you as a diver come swimming up to the glass! Man if that is what it is like to be a CM then sign me up!:cool1:

They have a 4:30 and 5:30 tour so around 5:30 and 6:30 the divers will be in the water. I would call the number for the tour and ask if they have people diving on the day you wish to eat and schedule your meal during this time!

My kids loved Whispering Canyon!!! Fun fun fun:)great food and delicious milk shakes:)

DD3 loves Ohana -- getting a lei, doing the limbo, hula dances, etc. She also loves the food there although I know some kids may not like the selections. There is no child's menu, but when we were there on Saturday I did see a server deliver a Grilled Cheese sandwich to a little girl next to us. (Not sure if there was a food allergy issue or she just didn't care for the regular offerings).

My DD's favorite restaurant (non-character) is Sci-Fi! Anytime she gets to watch a movie/tv and eat food, especially with Tom & Jerry, is her kind of heaven!
My kids didn't like Coral Reef at all. The food was gross and they couldn't see the tank at all from our seats.

My kids LOVED Whispering Canyon. It's a must-do on our next trip.
Sci Fi was a great diversion on a hot day at the parks for us.

Ohana was just okay for my kids--we were too far away from the activities to really enjoy and they didn't really like the food.

My DS (13) loved Whispering Canyon at the Wilderness Lodge. My family also enjoys Biergarten in Epcot. I'm not a meat eater and my youngest son is picky so I worried about that one before we went the first time. However, there is plenty to choose from. We make sure we go there every time we visit. It is our Thanksgiving favorite.

My kids love Whispering Canyon(fun with the wait staff), Sci-Fi(eat at a drive-in inside!) and 50's prime time(they really loved it when the waiter told my dh to get his elbows off they table and put a ketchup line on the table to enforce the rule. It was fun!)

I've seen most of these posted already, but my kids recommend:
'Ohana
Biergarten
Teppan Edo
Coral Reef
Whispering Canyon Cafe

And since you are on the deluxe plan, you may want to consider the Hoop Dee Do

Just to let you know, you don't have to have a food allergy to get kids food at 'Ohana. My kids have gotten burgers, hot dogs, grilled cheese, mac and cheese and chicken fingers. (Over the course of 3 visits). Just ask the server. They can eat what they like fromm the family style offerings, and still get a kids meal.:thumbsup2

How would the sci-fi movie be for an almost 5 year old girl at the Sci-fi rest.? Would it be scary or entertaining?

My DD was 5 last time we went, her little sister was not quite 2. They both loved it and didn't find it scary at all. The movies are so old and silly that you can't help but laught at them, even little kids. Of course, my DD is a huge fan of Scooby Doo and loves "scary" things like witches, ghosts etc. There are also cartoos too though.

Have you thought about Hoop-Dee-Do?? It is a favorite by far in our house!! The girls LOVE LOVE LOVE it!

A couple others that they like that have already been mentioned - Biergarten and 'Ohana.

I've heard great things about hoop dee doo...

I'd also recommend Sci Fi.. my 7 year old and 12 year old LOVE IT.
We also had a good time at Whispering Canyons..

Have a great time!

DD did not find it scary at 4 1/2. A few she found funny, most she ignored.

We had mixed opinions on the Sci-Fi with 2 loving their food, 1 disliking it and 2 O.K.
My burger was fantastic as were the shakes. We also really enjoyed the onion rings and spinach dip appys and the sundae for dessert was good as well.

Hello
I will be visiting WDW with my 5 year old nephew and it will be my first time travelling/doing Disney with a child.

Since it will only be the 2 of us:
1-Do you recommend that we do Ohana, I just think that the amount of food just for one adult will be ALOT!
2-For those of you who recommended Teppan Edo, do you recommend it for a 5 year old?
3-Do you recommend buffets? Will it be hard for me to take care of his plate and my plate at the same time?
4-My nephew only speaks French for the moment, is it completely useless to go to places like Whispering Canyion and 50s Prime Time since he wont be able to interact with the waiters?

Thanks alot for all your help :)
