I'm a newbie to this site. It looks AMAZING! is it too cold to go swimming in Jan in Orlando? I'm torn between JAN, FEB or MARCH. and does anyone find the 'room requirement' a major stress or hassle? several of my guests have florida timeshares and won't be staying on the property. any advice would be most appreciated. thanks!!! lisa

We're getting married in January, so I'm partial to then, but really any time during the winter is great weather in Orlando. It can be a bit chilly, but we've seen people swimming and at the water parks even when we've thought it was much too cold. The water is always heated, so if you don't mind a little chill when you get out its no problem!
I wanted to get married in January or the beginning of February because its still value season and the hotels will be really cheap. The middle of February to March starts to get expensive (and crowded!) because of Spring Break. But if you don't mind the added expense, its still a great time to be at Disney! :)
We were worried about the room block too, 'cuz a lot of my family lives in Central Florida and won't need rooms. We sat down and made a list of all the people we thought would need rooms and how long we thought they might stay, and it actually seems like its going to be no problem. Talk with your SM, too, though, 'cuz ours was totally willing to work with us on the numbers.
Hope that helps! Sorry so long!

We were just there in Jan. There of course pros and cons to both. When we were there it was COLD...this is from a northeastener! There was a warm day or so but definitely not swimming conditions and Feb is similar. i believe March is much warmer BUT it was the best trip ever because the parks were empty! it was great plus Dan hates the really hot weather so he was loving it! march is warmer but it gets way busier JMO!

We are getting married in January also. This year they had RECORD low's not seen in 10 years so that may be why pixie thought it was so bad. It was actually 32 degrees on the 8th believe it or not. This is not typical for Orlando, but no matter what there is still a chance it could happen again. I don't have a problem taking this chance though b/c its the time for the lowest hotel rates of the year so my family won't have a problem finding great accomodations at an affordable price. Good luck with whatever you decide!

Ok, not to say anyone is wrong. But I live 2 hours away, so let me speak from 22 years of knowledge and experience. February is the dryest month of the year. However, winter here starts in January, like an old beat up car. It will rain one day, all day long. Be cold and gloomy for 3 days, then Florida weather for several days. Then it starts all over again. Therefore, rain is very unpredictable. (That is why no one in Florida listens intently to the weather man. March is very dry. But out of the 3 months, January is the worst when in comes to rain. The temp never gets below 40, unless its a record breaker, but the pools are heated, just outdoors. January, the weather you never know, February, dry, and around 60-70, and March dry, between 65-80. I hope this helps you out. If you have ever been through a gloomy winter, January can and will have those days.

Another thing, March is Spring Break!

Value Season: 1/1 - 2/15, 7/5 - 10/4, 11/26 - 12/19
Regular Season: 4/23 - 7/4, 10/5 - 11/25
Peak Season: 2/16 - 4/22
Holiday Season: 12/20 - 12/31

Very true Pixie! We were in FL for the whole month of Jan...started out on the west coast and ended up in Orlando and BOY was it cold...and I'm another NE girl, lol!

I remember a few nights having to wear a winter coat to PI to go dancing!

thanks SO MUCH for your insider's point of view sarah! A florida weather expert is exactly what I needed! It sounds like January would be kind of a bummer.
