Still trying to decide between Value and Moderate. Any suggestions for which Moderate to pick with a toddler? We have decided to go with All Stars Movies if we do a Value, but cannot decide on which Moderate is the best choice. Have picked all at least once then change our mind. Thought about CB - looked most kid friendly, but thought it may be too big - crowded, waits in line at meals and buses. Then liked POFQ- but did not look as kid friendly. HELP!! - planning trip for January.

CSR is a great choice. It has a playground poolside, the best pool and slide of all the mods, no shared transportation and they have pool activities by the lifeguards for the kids.

They also do a pool opening ceremony. It happens at 10:00am. The kids chant to the water gods to get the water turned on to the temple, slide and tiki post.

Depending on your location, there could be walking involved at CSR. CBR is even larger. POFQ would be your best bet if you are trying to avoid walking all together. CSR has elevators in every building, not sure about the other mod resorts.

We chose POR to stay at w/ our 2yo and 6.5yo. I requested a building in AB and am hoping to get a room w/ a trundle bed. That way ds (2yo) can sleep there and we don't have to worry about bed rails, etc.

I'm really looking forward to our trip!

POFQ is very child friendly and I think would be the best choice for you. The resort is compact, pool is themed for the young and the food court is never but a few steps away from whatever section you are in. The rooms were done over not that long ago and are very pretty. Enjoy where ever you decide to stay!:goodvibes

We've stayed at Movies and my two kids (6 & 3 at the time) loved it. If your toddler is a Toy Story fan, the Toy Story section is Disney all the way.

My DH and I loved CBR. If you decide to stay here, and I recommend it, I would pay for the preferred room. A lot of the complaints over CBR do not apply to the preferred room section. The rooms are much bigger and more spacious. There is a privacy curtain separating the bathroom from the rest of the room, which I found convenient since I would get dressed before everyone woke up.

In CBR, we stayed in Trinidad North with a water view. We were right next to OPR and the pool area. I loved CBR and would love to stay there again.

I have stayed at CSR and POR I like POR as it is very laid back and never seemed crowded. The food options are great as well as it has a large food court in a nicely themed setting. I found CSR to be large and cold feeling although I did like pepper market I do not think this will be as kid friendly.
check this site out if you do not already know about it...

POFQ:goodvibes Very kid friendly. One reason I like POFQ over CBR when my kids where younger was that at POFQ the bus stop was NOT across the parking lot from the food court. It was on the same side of the road as the food court and the room buildings. At CBR bus stops are across the parking lots. POFQ also has the privacy curtain screen, and no room is out in the boonies.

All the mod's are so pretty & I believe that each one has thier benifits.. All are kid friendly as well....
I think its just comes down to the themeing that you would want...
POFQ is the smallest of them all & the themed pool w/ the dragon is fun.
POR has the fishing pond where you can catch & release...both of these resorts have a boat going to DTD which imo is wonderful.

CBR. We stayed there Dec 06 when my dd was 2 and are staying there again this dec.

We stayed in the preferred location but I have read on many posts that Jamaica and Aruba are only a 5 minute walk over the bridge if you do not want to pay extra for preferred.

If you can afford the preferred, go for it. We were in Martinique 26 which was a 30 second walk to the food court, shops and main pool. Each village also has their own pool. Every village has a beach and play ground which was great. We would take a break from the parks, and go down on the beach. My dd could run and build sand castle and dw and I were able to sit a minute and have a drink with our feet in the sand.

CBR is bigger than the rest of the mod's but that is actually what I like about it. It does not seem crowded at all. We also like the carribean, beachy feel over the other resorts.

We did stay in POFQ but that was before we had a child. It was nice but I like CBR more.

I, personally, would rather pay less $$ for about the same room and enjoy the parks! I don't travel to see the motel! I seems to me that all disney properties are somewhat simular in their room make-ups and size, just a few more (or less) amenities on the grounds.
I travel with my 3 girls and they love the POP kid pool, but I would rather stay at Music, Movies or Sports.
The last couple of times we stayed at POP the transportation was shared with the other mods and it took forever to get to where we were going, expecially after park closing! It didn't seem that bad while at Movies. This time we are staying at SPorts and am excited to see what the renovation has brought!:surfweb:

I have stayed at 3 of the 4 mods. And have spent time at the 4th. Here's my take.

CBR wins hands down for me. It may be large, but the walks are nothing. We stayed in the very furthest building in Trinidad South and still had under a 5 minute walk. There is so much to do there. It has great relaxing spots (hammocks on the beaches, quiet pools, etc). It is very inviting. Truly feels like a vacation. Great bus service. They have an internal, plus there is a stop at each village.

Next choice would be POR. Very relaxed. Pool area is great. Boat to DTD. Decent food court. Great restaurant.

Next is POFQ. I liked the smallness of it (this is the one I haven't stayed at). Food court was lacking and no sit down restaurant. Only 1 bus stop. Can get crowded.

Last on my list is CSR. We stayed here May 06. While the resort is pretty, the Pepper Market and Maya Grill were over rated and over priced. Both were absolute madhouses. Makes it hard to get a family dinner (at PM), as you are waiting in this line for this persons food, then you have to go stand in this line for that persons. The place is huge. We were in one of the buildings near the main area (El Centro, I think??) and had a LONG walk to the main pool. The place gave off a cold vibe to me. Too many conventioners and people in suits. I felt like I was at a chain resort (Hilton, Radisson, etc) instead of at Disney. I personally didn't think it was geared towards kids at all. More the teen segment if anything. I will give it credit for being beautiful.

All that being said, we are going back in 16 months and I am going between CBR and WL. Time will tell..

We love POR for our toddler...it is a relaxed, peaceful resort. It is nice to let the children relax by walking along side the river and watching/feeding the ducks. We have stayed in AB building 15 (I think) and The Mansions Acadian House...both of which are not a long walk to the food court nor the bus stops. It is also fun for the kids to watch the boats as you sit outside and eat a meal in the outside dining area....just watch the birds!

I have to tell you a cute story. We go to Disney about three times a year. We live close by so we take advantage of that. We never stay more than three nights. Anyway, we have stayed at all levels. I have to tell you that POP CENTURY is one of our favorites. We always request a poolside room when we stay there. I have a 2 year and 3 year old. Anyway on to the story. We stayed at POP in May of 2006 and Sept of 2006. My children love this place. We decided to stay at Wilderness Lodge in December. We pulled up to WL to unload our luggage and my son (who is 3) starts crying. I asked him what was wrong and he said, "Mom, I thought you said we were going to Disney?" So in his mind going to Disney is staying at POP. I think kids just enjoy the bright colors and big icons. The food courts have so much to offer. I am sure during peak times these places might be a nightmare. When are you going? We are returning this September. We are staying 2 nights at Cornado Springs, which I am excited about because we have never stayed there. We are going to Poly for 3 nights after that to join my parents. Don't worry - I checked the values before we booked and they were full. I really don't think you will be disappointed if you stayed at a Value. Just make sure the pool will be available.

Thanks for the tips. We will be going in January 2008 - our initial choice was CBR - but we are now thinking that the beach and pools (why we initally picked CBR) may not be an option with the weather. Of course being from Ohio - if its at least 70 in the winter - it will seem warm enough to us to swim!!!

How do you request a preferred room - what exactly is it? Any tips on best way to book trip?
