Hi,
I've been trying to decide which moderate resort to stay at. We'll be going in December 2004. I heard the Port Orleans-Riverside will be renovated. Does anybody know when? Any comments on the Carribean or Coronado?

Thanks:earsboy:

We stayed at Coronado 3 years ago. It's beautiful and very relaxing. The only negative we had was that you had to wait and be seated in the 'food court' area. There were several stations set up giving you the feeling that you were in an open-air market in Mexico. You were given a card by the host or hostess and you handed your ticket to the person who prepared your food at the station you chose to eat at and then paid a cashier on your way out after finishing your meal. I saw several families having difficulty with young children who could not understand why they had to wait in line in order to eat and again when they were done eating and paying on the way out. We prefer getting our food, paying and then finding our own seats as is the case with the resorts at Port Orleans. Our favorite so far has been POFQ....

My family loves both the POR and CBR. However, we would choose POR over CBR. This is our favorite moderate resort. The rooms are awesome, the pool is great and their sit down restaurant, Boatwrights, is to die for!!! CSR is not family oriented in our opinion (we stayed there once, and that was enough). You will be happy with either CBR or POR, but we recommend POR.:sunny: :jester: :smooth: :wave2:

We have stayed at CBR and CSR. They are both very pretty. CSR is very spread out. We had about a 15 minute walk from our room to the hot tub. I wasn't overly fond of their food court area. CBR has a slight edge over CSR in my opinion but I don't think you can go wrong with either one of them....

POR! It is pretty, the rooms are great, the pool is fun, it has a nice hot tub... it isn't TOO spread out and has a great place to eat. Bus service is good. Have never had a bad stay there!

Another vote for POR. We love it there. Of all the mods, we think it's the closest to a deluxe due to the theming. If you like it a little more rustic, try the Bayou area. More formal?? The Mansion area.

CBR is a beautiful resort. The landscaping is pretty, several pools, bike and boat activities, Old Port Royale, beach hammocks, arcade and the banana cabana (poolside bar!). The colors are bright and cheery and the rooms are a good size, bright and clean. We've never had a bad stay or unpleasant experience at the CBR. Enjoy your vacation!

We love POR :Pinkbounc

We stayed there Spring Break 03 and loved it!!!

There are five of us so we stayed in the Bayou with a trundle bed. It worked great!! Everything about this resort is awesome. And the boat to DTD is a great perk.

POR for me too. I've stayed at POFQ, POR and CBR. I love PO. CBR was my least favorite (no particular reason) but I've come to the conclusion that I just don't care for the tropical theme. I also didn't like walking thru a gift area to get to the food court. Could have been a problem if my kids were younger. Anyway, POR seemed to offer so much - carriage rides and boat to DTD. The landscaping is great. I find POR to be a relaxing resort if that is what you are looking for. My DH and I love sitting on the rocking chairs on the porch of the poolside bar. Go with the theme that appeals to you most.

Hey cinmell,

Go Pats!

Doing POR for first time this summer- can't wait. The feedback is so positive for this resort. We are looking forward to it very much. Was considering doing POP but figured it would be:

1. crowded because it is new and
2. just sick of the All Star themeing (stayed there six times)- ready for the jump up.

We have stayed at all the moderates except CBR (although we did tour it one afternoon) and POR wins, hands down.

My reccomendation is to call Disney and figure out what resorts will be in rehab during your stay. POFQ closed last May for rehab, and might reopen by Dec. 2004.

We have stayed at POFQ & CBR. Our favorite moderate so far is POFQ. Actually, we just got from our honeymoon and stayed at CBR. Guess I should write a review!

Granted we've only stayed at POFQ... but we loved it SO much that I wish it were open, we'd definitely stay there again!

This most recent trip we resort hopped and visited CBR... didn't like the looks, too spread out!

Our favorite is CBR - course it's the only one we've ever stayed at. We toured several - the Grand, WL, BC, All-Star, ...we have stayed everytime at CBR and never had a bad experience.

What we love? It makes you feel as if you were on an island - you can sit, relax on a hammock, watch the kids play, ride bikes, swim in their cool pools, rent boats, let the kids play in the arcade room, see their parrots on the walk-over, and hear all the calypso music when you're going to the food -court. Even the food-court has the 'marketplace' feel to it.

The rooms are supposed to be a tad bit larger than some of the other mods, but either way, we've always been pleased. We've stayed at Aruba, Jamaica and I'm sure some of the others but they have always been great.

The only neg. is that sometimes the food court gets hectic, and somewhat crowded....but aren't we used to it at Dis?

Check it out and see if you enjoy it as much as we do!!!

Looking forward to another great trip------------

We stayed at CBR in Aug. and LOVED it! We left ASMo after a horrible stay(2 nights)and just loved the CBR. We loved the beaches, hammocks, pool, food court and the cm's there were wonderful. Our boys were 4.5 and a month shy of 9 and they both loved it too. The only regret was we never got a chance to rent boat and get out on the lake. We were in Barbados 15 and while the walk to the food court was a little long it was a beautiful walk, watched the fireworks from Illuminations a couple times on that walk.pirate:
