Best moderate resort?

We are traveling to Walt Disney World in September with an 18 month old and 5 year old and are wondering what the best moderate resort would be for us to stay? We have never been to Walt Disney World before...

with your age children would go with POFQ - they will love that slide.

if they are braver or bolder might go with CSR.

Well, best is a very subjective thing. All Disney resorts are distinctly different in there theming, size, transportation options, etc. We have traveled several times with our children that were the age that yours are, and I would recommend POFQ simply because it is smaller and more compact than the other mods, is beautifully landscaped, and has a great pool for younger children. Plus, the bus stops here first before going to the other Port Orleans resort. Be aware that there is no sit down restaurant here, but there is one at POR and is just a nice walk up along the river. However, you do have a nice food court that when we visited never seemed to be too crowded.

I would go with POFQ or CSR. Our personal favorite is CSR, but our son is older and the pool at CSR is better for older kids.

POR or PORFQ are both very family oriented. Peaceful, quiet, beautiful theming, nice pools, lots of great reasons to consider them.

I agree with everybody else, I recommend POFQ given the age of your children. The POFQ pool is just wonderful for little kids -- water sliding down the dragon's tongue is truly magical for them. My kids also loved the boat to DTD from PO/POFQ. Also, POFQ is smaller and easier to maneuver with little ones than either PO or CSR. My kids are now 11 & 12, and have outgrown the POFQ pool and love CSR.

We've stayed at POR, POFQ and CSR. I think I'd say POFQ, too, given the ages of your children. BUT, they are all wonderful and I think you'd be happy wherever you stayed.

Another vote for CSR as best mod!! Great pool, no shared transportation and awesome food options.

But if your looking for a small resort with little walking, POFQ would fit the bill.

I think CBR is fun with young children, though the reviews have been kind of spotty lately.

The pools at POR and POFQ are a lot of fun-- so is the theme.

I think CSR would be really boring for the kids. It's a more adult resort to me.

I would choose CSR. Our kids believe it is very much a kids resort. The offer bike and boat rentals at the marina. You can rent fishing equipment too. There is a great playground area at the main pool along with a kiddie pool. My kids love the main pool and the slide as well. There is also an arcade at the main pool along with a volleyball court. The lifeguards also play games with the kids at the main pool area long with doing a pool opening ceremony involving the kids. So I believe it is very much a resort all can enjoy.

POFQ is our favorite resort. You will love it. I like buildings 5 or 2.

Buildings 2 or 5 at POFQ are right around the pool/hot tub/playground area. But seriously, there is no bad building since it is such a small area. Sometimes I hate saying how much i love POFQ because it keeps getting booked up so fast

We love CSR because of the great pool and transportation.

Another vote for CSR. We just got back this Wednesday and it was great. DH and DS found lots to do two days that they didn't go to any of the parks. This was DH first time to the World and he gave CSR a 10

We loved it and hopefully will be returning next year.
