Best moderate for little ones?

Travelling in January with 3 little ones - 5, 3.5 and 20 months when we travel. Many years ago I stayed at POFQ and POR, but wasn't really paying attention at the time to how kid friendly they were! Which moderate resort would you say is best for little ones? And do all the moderate pools have zero entry? We will be using Disney transport throughout our stay (no car)

My family has stayed at POR and loved it. There's a nice kiddie pool, unfortunately, I can't remember if it's zero entry. You may also want to take a look at Carib. Beach.

My youngest turned 3yo at CSR. We loved it there and my gaughter was a big fan of the pkayground, kiddie poil and zero entry pool. POFQ is also fun for little ones for the small water park but the pools at POR and POFQ are not zero entry.

My kids loved CBR. The kids water area is awesome! The only downfall for us was the size of the resort.

I believe only CSR and CBR have zero entry pools at the moderate level. Between the two, we prefer CSR's pool. The theme at CBR's pool is probably better for kids, but we found CSR's layout to be more spacious and less crowded feeling.

With 3 little ones think of yourself and look hard at FQ. Everything is at most an 8 minute walk and that's if your staying in one of the water view rooms. Everything is small and compact and it might not sound like a lot but after a long day at the parks saving yourself a 10 minute walk is a lot. Its not a zero entry pool (at least the last time we stayed there) but the pool is nice and at that age they might like the musical gators along the path to the pool.

While POFQ does not have a zero entry pool, my almost 3-year-old son LOVED the King Triton slide last year. It is the perfect first water slide; mild enough for little kids to be comfortable on. There's also a children's splash pad but my son was afraid of the water pouring on his head lol. I like all the moderates but POFQ is convenient because there is one bus stop and the resort is compact. No matter where your room is, you are a reasonable walk from the food court and pool. Caribbean Beach is a bit of a haul depending on where your room is located. The last time I stayed at Riverside I didn't have kids so no comment there. I tend to notice things now through parent eyes that I never noticed in the past!I've never stayed at CSR.

CSR's main pool does not have a zero entry, unless it has been added in the last few years. CBR is the only Mod resort with a zero entry pool. Truthfully with the ages of your children I would go with POFQ because it's a small resort, your close to everything and the pool has a "kids" design to it and it only has 1 bus stop. The Mods are our favorite level and have stayed at all of them since our DD's were infants and we would not hesitate to stay at any of them.

Our twins were turning 4 last year at POFQ, and adored it. The pool was amazing to them, and the lack of zero entry didn't matter. They also loved the splash pad. We try to show them different hotels each year (they have done AOA, AKV-Kidani, POFQ so far) and so this year we are doing CBR. They are VERY excited about the pool area having a big slide AND a little slide, as well as the splash area.

You can also use POR's pools as a guest of POFQ & vice versa. If you plan any time in Disney Springs the boats from those two resorts are better than using buses to DS IMO.

I would look into CBR due to a few reasons. 2 slides,main pool layout made it easy for me to point out "don't go past the towers without me" , and more quiet pools between guests. With the Skyliner being built there, it will be an alternative to bus for Epcot and Hollywood Studios transportation. Riviera opening there will be dining options there as well. I haven't stayed at POFQ to compare storage space but from pictures I think CBR may have a bit more.

Caribbean Beach! The main pool area is great for them, the quiet pools are nice when you need a break from the noise, and the food court is good for going to grab snacks once the kids are asleep. We also found the rooms to be quiet, and the pull down bed perfect for our 2 1/2 year old. We did put bed rails on it because it was kind of high. There are quite a few bus stops, but the bonus to that is that you never have to walk far to get to a bus. We found they came very frequently and we never waited long for one. Good, central location close to all of the parks.

Port Orleans French Quarter is my favorite moderate, period, and I'm taking my little ones (2 and 5) there this summer for two nights on the end of a DVC stay, but those rooms don't have the murphy beds, which might be perfect for your 3 year old.

Assuming that the construction will be finished by then, I would choose CBR for kid appeal. The pool has zero depth entry, a couple of slides, and there is also a nice splash area with a ship for younger kids. My kids liked the "beaches" and hammocks and the pastel colored buildings.

I would pick POFQ for the size of the resort. Yes CBR pool is really fun, but with 3 kids so young the pool area may be a bit big and hard to keep track of everyone. Maybe in a couple years when the older children are a bit more independent CBR will be worth trying.

Here is a big secret... All of Disney hotels are great for kids. Over the years, we have stayed at all of the moderates with our kids. I don't like CBR because of the size, it was our least favorite. POFQ is our favorite moderate but the kids also love CSR. Look them over and stay where you want to. The kids will love it wherever they are.

Thank you - we are waiting for the new Disney offer to be released on April 25th (and keeping everything crossed its a free dine offer!), and to be honest cost will be a factor, but have no idea which resort will be cheapest for our dates. Last week it looked like Coronado Springs, but that has now tripled in price and POFQ is coming in cheapest. From doing our research I think we will try to avoid CBR (although the skyliner is a big pull), but in the event they are all similar prices, looking for an easy way to choose!

You will have a great time no matter where you stay. All of the Disney resorts are just beautiful.

The splash areas is great for the little kids. Zero entry not a deal breaker because of this area.

POFQ - is our favorite because it is so small. Not a hassle to get anywhere. You don't need to upgrade to a preferred room to be close to the hub plus this resort has a boat to Disney Springs (relaxing and scenic).

Being able to walk out of your room and be to the bus stop, the boat, the pool or the food court within minutes with three kids is a life saver.

OP - There’s also an arcade there and the lounge is very kid friendly with live music and board games. Our son loved the splash pad and the pool slide as well as the playground. I cannot remember if the pool is zero entry but there is a very small kid’s pool at POR that does have zero entry and will be great for your little ones if you feel like making the trek.
