On my next trip I've decided instead of staying at a deluxe resort as originally planned we decided to lengthen are vacation and stay at a moderate. I will have my 6 year old niece along and want to know what one would be best with a young child.
I voted for CSR, because it is my personal favorite. All of the moderates are nice and very much alike. I could only get CBR on our last minute trip in December, so I happily booked it. I think that whichever one you choose, you'll be happy. They offer the same amenities, have very similar rooms, and only have different themes.
They're all good, but I'll put in a plug for Port Orleans. French Quarter has arguably the best kids pool of the Moderates, and the Riverside has bikes, rope swings, water craft, lots of extra fun.
We've stayed at all of the moderates, but my kids hands down prefer POFQ. It has a nice pool area and is very compact. My boys did not like the CB pool, the slide was very small. They liked the pool/slide at CS, but the resort is so big, that we had to walk a long way to the pool, and food court. Riverside is nice, but it is very spread out and we have always had lousy luck with their buses.
