We are planning to go this November. We are trying to determine the best moderate Disney Resort for us. Our girls will be 4 &6. We will visit the other parks but most time will be spent at MK. I'm interested in past experience with the moderate resorts with bussing, rooms, pools, food.... We must have nonsmoking because my oldest has asthma.

Thank you all! :)

I haven't tried POFQ yet but I think it sounds perfect for you. It is less spread out (less potentially walking to your room) than the other moderates. The pool and kidde pool would be perfect for your girls. And while it shares a bus with POR, POFQ is the first stop both going and returning from the parks.

I can't wait to try POFQ in early May with a few friends. I am planning on a family trip there in August if all goes well in May.

POFQ is a great resort - as the previous poster mentioned. I think the pool area would appeal to younger kids and it isn't so spread out. You can also use the pool at POR which is a short walk. There is a boat to Downtown Disney as well.

CSR is also a beautiful resort and the pool has a larger slide if your girls are more daredevils. (Both have baby pools too). My only complaint about CSR is that it is very spread out - a lot of walking which can be fatiguing with little kids. They have an "internal shuttle" - like a big golf cart - but we often were unable to hitch a ride on it because it was full! I stay here because of a conference we attend every other year but otherwise until the kids get older not sure I'd stay here just for vacation.

I'm personally booked at POR for spring break - we hope to get down there in April. And I'm only staying there because I couldn't get POFQ for my AP rate.

I'm not sure any of the mods are that close to the MK - still a 20 min or so bus ride. If you decide to increase the budget the WL would be the least expensive deluxe that is closest to the MK (boat to the MK). I've not stayed there. I did get an excellent AP rate last May at the CR ($160 a night or so I think - before tax - for a wing room). You might keep your eye out for some deal like that. From the CR you can WALK to the MK - nothing beats that!

Also be SURE and tell the person taking the resort ressie (or call back and tell them) that your daughter has asthma. They will guarantee you a non-smoking room and it WILL be noted on your reservation paper you get in the mail. Otherwise it is not guaranteed! (I've never had a problem but now I make sure and do that - younger DS has asthma too).

Have fun!

POFQ is nice and small and I would recommend that. Easy to get around and get to transportation :)

WL is a deluxe--but we have gotten mod-price deals there on occasion. They may be worth a look just to see if you can get a comfortable price :).

WL was about $1,000 more then moderate. I'm trying again to see if I can get a better rate on it. Keep your fingers crossed for me!

Thanks for the advice. When did you stay at CBR and what do you mean by "bad?"
How long do the busses take from the moderates to get to MK? :confused3

PO Riverside has kids waterpark. Large kids play area with slides. Fishing with cane poles for nominal fee.Bike paths along the "mississippi" that you can rent 4 person bikes. Plus you also have rights to pools etc at PO French quarter with smaller but unique kids stuff. And its a short free ferry ride from one to the other and ferryman gives kids mardi gras coins and beads. The Alligator Bayou area of Riverside is beautiful, but not the french court yard more fancy look of french quarter. Lots of sticky tree frogs and lizzards to catch outside in grass too. (that was my favorite and I was 33 yr old mother of 3 :) )

I must say that the CBR is great. I loved it and so did my 6 year old son. You can see a picture of him inside the room here
2 thumbs up for the CBR says Jarod (my son) (scroll down to second post to see the picture)

We stayed at POFQ with our 3 and 5 yr. olds and it was ideal for what we wanted. We rode the bought down to Riverside for fun and we were so happy we weren't staying there--it was so loud and chaotic compared to POFQ (it was Pop Warner week and there were cheerleaders there). We liked that everything was truly within walking distance (even for little legs) and that the common areas, such as the pool and restaurant, weren't super-crowded even at the busiest times.

Thank you so much! The small size is a big plus! We knew our girls would be tired after the parks. We did book POFQ for November. I am so excited. Do you think it will be warm enough for the pool? We will be there form 11/4 to 11/11 ? I hope so! My 5 year old can't stop talking about the slide!

you'll love your choice. it's a great resort...the only drawback is the long walk (or boat ride) to get to a real restaurant. The smaller size and the great atmosphere more than make up for it!

we were there in December. LOVED IT!
