Hi

We have a chance to stay hopefully at a mod and deluxe in January at a discounted rate (we're sooooooooooooo excited!) but have no idea which ones would be best with a baby. Our daughter Tilly will be 14 months old.

We've only stayed onsite once, at AKL and POFQ, AKL was nice but the rooms are too far away from the restaurants/pool, loved POFQ but not sure about room size/cot etc.

Would love your advice for those of you who have been brave enough to travel with your babies/toddlers, thanks so much :thumbsup2

How about a split stay between POFQ and the Poly? I think POFQ is the best moderate for you, because of its small size, and the small pool area. The Poly would be great for you, because of being right on the monorail line, and being so close to the TTC. It makes getting to MK or Epcot a snap. Plus the Poly pool is great for little ones. It has a zero entry end, and is relatively small in size. At night you can head to the beach and watch Wishes.

I love both the Poly and the Contemporary, but I would give the Poly a small edge because of the pool/beach area.

As far as mods I think POFQ would be the best bet. It seems more compact than the others, and the rooms aren't as far from the hospitality section as they could be at CBR, CSR or even POR. I'm assuming you'd have your DD sleep in the pack-n-play which fits nicely in the corner by the door or near the privacy curtain by the sinks.

Deluxes - Any of them, although if you don't have a car AKL would be my last choice. Of the deluxes that we've stayed at we love WL, haven't stayed at Poly or GF but Poly seems to get the better reviews. We like the WL because of its size, the boat to the MK, or the boat to CR (for Chef Mickey's or monorail), and the relaxing themeing.

I can't comment on the buses for any of the resorts because we take our car and drive everywhere unless staying at WL and going to MK or Epcot.

We've been taking our two kids since the oldest was ten months old and he is almost seven now so we've gone at various baby/toddler stages. :)

Is the Poly not too big or is it fairly easy to get to the restaurants/ pool/monorail?

I think any of the mods would be great regardless of the age of the child. If you are solely looking for a small resort, then POFQ is the place. But with that comes less. Hopperfan but it best. "POFQ is designed after the New Orleans French Quarter. It is a smaller resort without all the amenities of the standard moderate....no sit down, no quiet pools, no rentals."

My favorite is CSR. Great pool, food and transportation.

We just stayed at the CR w/ our DD who is 3. Next year we will be taking our DD, who will then be 4 and our DD who will be 15 mos. old at the time. We are staying at the CR again due to the fact that the MK is less than a 10 min walk which we decided to do often, and the monorail goes right through the resort which is great w/strollers. We will stay at the Poly on our next visit after next year (2010) because then I think both DD will like the zero entry pool. I don't think right now it would matter to our youngest, and we are going in Feb so we may not even hit the pools (just depends).

I do love the CR rooms. They are so comfortable. The dining options are great too, Chef Mickey's and California Grill.

HTH,

Go for the Grand Floridian -- Magic Kingdom is the first stop on the monorail after GF. Couldn't be easier, plus the resort is small and very manageable. It's not far from any of the rooms to the pool, the lobby, etc.

We stayed at CBR when DD was 15mos old and asked for a preferred room. It was a great resort.

For Deluxe- CR

while we all absolutly loved por, i would not recommend it with a small child. the pool area is very easily accessible and I could see a child running and falling in easily. also, while i loved all the greenery, it would be easy for a child to hide in all the trees and green, and with the resort being all spread out, you could be going in one direection and the child in another. my girls were 6 and 10 and it was the best choice I could have ever made, but I would not want to do this one with a toddler. good luck!!

I've been going to CSR since my DD was 4 yrs old. She loves it! Check out my CSR website below for pics and info.

Guests staying at POFQ can use the pool(s) at POR since they are sister resorts and share those amenities.

Thanks for letting me know, I didn't know that! It would be fun to walk over to POR and have a dip (although in January I don't know that swimming will be all that important to us!)
