Our first day in Disney (we'll have arrived late the night before and transferred that morning from Pop to Contemporary) we will be having a late breakfast at Chef Mickey's around 10:15, we'll then let DD2 take a nap (if we can check in early) and head to MK. We are going to stay through the 7:00 parade. I am wondering what the best TS dinner option is. We want TS to sit down and rest/relax for a while. We already have ADRs for others times at CP and CRT. How is the Plaza Restaurant? Thanks!

I've never eaten at the Plaza but we loved the Liberty Tree Tavern. Get food and relaxing atmosphere. Great locations for the parade too. :thumbsup2

We ate at the Plaza for dinner during our last trip just so that we could take a break and get everyone off their feet for about an hour and it worked out well. The food was decent but nothing spetacular. Standard sandwiches, salad, and burger fare. I haven't tried LTT so can't make a comparison.

Honestly, I'm more concerned with the atmosphere than the food, as I think in Disney it's really more about the atmosphere than the actual food. That said, what's The Plaza like? Does it have a very Disney, Main Street feel to it? Thanks!

I don't find the atmosphere or the food (Plaza) to be anything really special - good/nice but not with that Wow Disney factor. The club sandwich is very good. The last time we ate at Liberty Tree it was a character meal so very Disney. I can't see the restaurant really having that Wow factor either without the characters. Liberty Tree does have a menu that is more like "dinner" to me than the Plaza Rest. though.

Yeah, I sooo wish LTT was still character dining.

I like Liberty Tree but for lunch, not dinner.

You can't see the parade from inside Liberty Tree. Although from its porch, there is a good view. (There is no seating on the porch) So you want to make sure you are outside the restaurant at the time the parade comes by.

The Plaza is a nice restaurant right off of Main Street USA. The food is burger fare with good milk shakes. LTT for the evening has a family style thanksgiving dinner also nice, it was much better when they had characters however.

Something to consider is if you want to leave the park you could also get a good meal at the Kona Café or Grand Floridian Café or even the Whispering canyon over at the Wilderness Lodge. After dinner a quick monorail or boat ride and you're back at the Magic Kingdom.

I was thinking about WCC or Kona. How much time would I want to schedule pre ressie, for dinner, and then post ressie to get back to MK. We want to see 7:00 parade. Thanks for the idea!

Tony's is a gook MK option for Table Service. I know it gets some bad reviews here on the DIS but my family loves it here. The restaurant is so pretty with statues of Lady and the Tramp and the fountain and they play the movie while you wait for your table to be ready. We had lunch there in May and found our food to be quiet yummy. It also has perfect seating for the parade. Hope this helps.

Hadn't thought of that! Thanks. Can you please tell me about the parade seating you referenced? Thanks!

You can eat on the patio at Tony's and the parade route usually comes right by the patio.

Usually you can request it when you check in at the podium but its pretty much luck of the draw but they also have several tables by the windows.

When it comes to Table Service Restaurants in the Magic Kingdom I have been to Liberty Tree Tavern, Tony's Town Square and The Plaza.

Personally out of all those locations my favorite one has been Liberty Tree Tavern.
