Best MESP Spot with FP Before it

Hi,

Never been to Disney so have a logistics question about where to wait / stand for the Main Street Electrical Parade. We're going on a Monday night in October so I imagine it'll be quite busy (since not many nights that time of year).

DH and DD have a A&E FP from 7:40pm - 8:40pm with the parade being at 9pm. They will try and go earlier in the FP time, but it depends when we finish our dinner ADR.

Is there a good spot on the parade route to meet them at (i.e. DS and I will grab a spot)? I was thinking that a good location for the parade would be at the main entrance near the Railroad but I'm worried they'll be tons of people and they'll never find us. We may leave after the parade since not sure how late our kids will stay up on our first night (and planning on Rope Drop at HS next morning). Or should we simply wait for them to complete their FP and then head to a parade spot all together (but not sure if good spots will be left at this point).

Thoughts?

Anyone? I guess what I"m trying to ask, is before the Main Street Electrical Parade,

  1. Is it really crazy to walk around and find each other if you split up your party?
  2. Is it really hard to grab a spot for the parade, especially around the main entrance railroad area?

We are coming third week in October

1. You should be okay to find each other for the parade. If Main Street gets too crowded, you can cut through the shops on Main Street (they're connected).

2. MSEP starts at that end, so you'd have to be in place early enough because they will rope off areas for the parade, which limits the ease and ability to get to certain spots.

I have no idea where your dinner is, nor your ADR, but don't forget that there are good (and less crowded) spots to watch MSEP from in Frontierland.

We have 5:40pm ADR at BOG and then DH and DD have A&E FP at 7:40pm - 8:40pm.
DS and I may hop on a ride at this point or we may secure a spot for the parade. Not sure.

Where do you recommend to stand for the parade in Fronteirland? Will we be able to leave the park easily afterwards? (IF we stay for the fireworks then i've heard that infront of the castle is best. But I think we'll probably skip it our first night and catch fireworks show on our last night at the MNSSHP)

Sorry...misread. I thought you said you had a FP+ for MSEP. Without a FP for MSEP and wanting to find a spot possibly 20 minutes before it starts, I think the only acceptable answer is "anywhere you can find a spot that isn't in front of someone else who has been waiting".

That differs from night to night, but frontierland (again, wherever you can find a spot Country Bear Jamboree, Picos Bill, etc) is probably your best bet.

Thank you. I have noted the spots on Frontierland.

Is it hard to exit from there afterwards?

Not easy to exit but not too hard. Disney CMs will put up tape lines to keep pathways clear for people moving around the park. But the Hub and Main Street will be jammed once MSEP ends as people start moving into the streets for fireworks. It's doable. I think it would be less exhausting to just watch the fireworks and head out afterward instead of fighting the crowd to get out ahead of the fireworks.

But we'd have to switch spots right? I've heard the fireworks are to be watched with the castle in the background.

Main Street is going to be a choke point from about 8:00 until after the fireworks. With a BOG reservation and a A&E FP+, I'd just watch MSEP from Frontierland, as close to the crossover from Splash to Adventureland as possible, on the Splash side (so that your family can join you when they're done with A&E).

Your family will be able to get to you by exiting Fantasyland near IASW/Rapunzel's tower. Once they're in Liberty Square, instead of walking near/on the street (which they may or may not be allowed to do), there is a boardwalk along the water that will take them all the way to Splash, where they can join you to watch the parade.

If you're going to skip the fireworks, after the parade, cut through Adventureland, then turn to the right as you exit the land, walking toward the Crystal Palace/Casey's. You'll meet Main Street at Casey's, and then will be able to duck into the shops on Main Street and can make your way to the park exit inside the shops instead of on the street. The shops are really one, big connected buidling, and with people gathering on Main Street for the fireworks, they'll be fairly empty and easy to navigate. You'll come out on the end of Main Street and be able to exit the park easily.
