We are DVC members looking to expand to Marriott .Which Is your favorite Marriott in oOrlando Area?
Best Pool?

Try checking the search function. I KNOW that a question such as this if not the same question has been asked before. I am going to Vista Grande in a 4 day timeshare tour in July so I am on no help to you. All I can say is I know they have a new pool and from what I have seen on the outside it looks very nice.

I know that Grand Cypress is a 4.5 star and the newest and Vista Grande is only a 4 star but then again if you know anything about time share properties, they have only given Sheration Vistana Villages 3 stars and that location is wonderful.

Hope this helps somewhat. Don't you hate it when there is no response and you have to keep asking the same question over and over. I have had that happen also.

you don't want to buy in Orlando - period - (well expect for DVC) - I would look at the new Marriott in Myrtle Beach....

in the Orlando area - it depends do you have kids - then the Horizons is a little kids favorite.

I happen to love the Grande Vista - I am getting to stay there again!!!

Why don't buy in Orlando - well when you want to trade - an internet lady brought a Marriott timeshare in Paris - she was told they would give heard 2 weeks in orlando at the Grande Vista for her 1 week. this happens alot.....

Alot of people love the Marriott's Cypress Harbour - this is only 2 bedrooms - so I haven't tried it yet.

the Marriott's Imperial palms (3-bedrooms), Marriott's Royal Palms (2 bedrooms), and Marriott's Sabal Palms (2-bedrooms) are located in the Marriott World Trade Center - which is really, really close to WDW.

so it just depends upon what you want!

Marriott is selling the Grande Vista and Horizons so you can probably find a deal on either of them.

www.vacationclub.com
you can sign up for their website and they will occassionally send out a postcard for a deal.

you can also go to
www.tug2.net
at the bottom on the page is promotions - Owners Referral - click on this and find the Marriott.

don't buy anywhere without joining tug2 (so you can see the reviews). You can get advice by just signing up - you only need to join if you wish to see the stuff that is member only. (like the review and best yet on the bulletin board - sights, distress exchanges - a wonderful board for finding that hard to get trade)

I would also go ask on the DVC board on this site. there are several DVC owners who also own at Marriott.

it just depends upon what you want...

Sorry I didn't see this before.

forgot your pool questions - right now I think the Horizons wins - but by June the new bigger and much, much better at Grande Vista will be open....

We've stayed at the Grande Vista which was beautiful. According to the Marriott people at the Doral Villas in Miami (during a recent timeshare tour)....Grande Vista is the most requested Marriott to exchange into for Orlando. Not sure if this is true or not.

I've also heard that the Ocean Pointe in Palm Beach Shores is in very high demand for exchanges. The price, of course, is also very high.

I really don't think you will go wrong with Marriott. We have thought about purchasing a week ourselves, but we have been getting such wonderful deals through SkyAuction (less than $300) for a week, that I'm finding it hard to justify. This is far less than even the maintenace fees I would pay. Maybe when these deals dry up we will consider it more seriously.

Happy shopping!!!

We're owners at Grande Vista, and have stayed or seen most other Orlando Marriott properties. We're very happy with our choice. Early next month GV is opening a new pool complex across the lake from the main pool area, which in my opinion is already spectacular in terms of beauty and architecture. Functional, too; they have a main pool with a waterfall, a smaller kids pool with fountains, and even a lap pool for exercisers. As I said, I couldn't recommend it more highly.

Heather C:

Can you tell me a bit about the Marriott Doral Villas in Miami?

Thanks!!

Just back from the Marriott Grande Vista. We had a three bedroom which was beautifully furnished and very cleaned. Really liked that there were TVs in all the bedrooms and three full baths. Lock off one bedroom added some privacy/sound barrier for our party of seven. Pool was fairly nice, but pretty crowded. Hopefully this will be eased a bit when new section opened. Although Marketplace was adequate, would have liked more dining choices.

Have also stayed in a three bedroom at the Marriott World Center (not sure what these villas were called). The third bedroom of this unit was much smaller and it also only had two bathrooms. Was configured in a traditional style, not a lock off, so less privacy and not as well suited to a large group in my opinion. I personally like the main pool at World Center much better than at Grande Vista. Larger and better landscaping, although a bit of a distance from the villas (which have their own quiet pools). Also like having access to all the restaurants that are part of the World Center complex.

Overall, I'd say it depends what's most important to you. If it's amenities, I'd go with World Center, if it's the actual unit, I'd go for Grande Vista.
