Im sure this has been asked a million times....

Which Longhouse should I request for the Poly to have the best location to the Great Ceremonial House?

We would also like non smoking...

THanks! :goodvibes

I really liked Tokelau for the following reasons:

Although not right next door to the Great Ceremonial House, it was really close (the Poly maps are very deceptive).

Right next to the quiet pool, and a short (<2 minute) walk to the main pool.

Halfway between the GCH and the TTC so you could easily walk to the TTC for the Epcot monorail.

No parking lot views

Non smoking building.

Close to the bus stops for the other parks.

If you leaned out your balcony, you could see the lagoon. If that pesky tree wouldn't have been there, you could see castle......

This sounds great, I have just barely visited the Poly before and mostly just to eat there!
So I really have no idea how things are laid out.
Do you have to go to the TTC to get to Epcot via walking, or could you take the Monorail there and then hop onto the Epcot line?

It's a short walk to the TTC, but you could take the monorail like you said to get to Epcot. Here's an aerial view that shows the TTC and Poly:

we were in Rarotonga on our last trip and it was right next to the GCH, the bus stops were out our door and the quiet pool was a one minute walk, the main pool was probably 2 minutes. The walk to TCC was also very short. We had a parking lot view room but it was still very nice - the monorail went very quietly right by our balcony :)

We stayed in Somoa 6/18 - 6/25. I loved it!!!! It was right by the GCH, which was great for filling mugs, and it was right by both pools and the beach area. We had a 1st floor room facing the volcano pool. We slept until 9:30 every day and I never heard a peep outside the room, so noise was not a problem. I just thought it was located so close to everything that I needed and it was perfect. I am sure some of the other longhouses are great but when it is late at night and you want a refill for the night, it was a real quick walk. Just my two cents. Every room at the POly is great so you will have a great time. :Pinkbounc

Looking at the resort map, this looks like the best for us....
I would love to have the monorail go by our balcony, did you get any pictures of that?

Thanks to everyone for the replies! :goodvibes

We had Roratonga and loved it! We had a garden view. GCH was just steps away from our room! So convenient for those rainy days or to refill the mugs! And of course, you are just steps from the monorail! The laundry room and arcade were in the building to the right of us. Pools were just steps away. Perfect location for us! :flower:

Stay away from Fiji, its too quiet, great view of the cove, close to the GCH. :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

To be honest, you can't go wrong no matter where you are at. The Poly really isn't that spread out, so nothing is that far of a walk. It's only an issue if it's raining. You will love the Poly!

Just be aware too that some of the long houses do not have balconies on the second floors. If that is important to you, I would request a longhouse that is not set up like this. Also double check when you check in to make sure you have a room with a balcony/patio.

As for how to get to Epcot, it is much faster to walk to the TTC and get directly on the monorail there. If not, you will have to walk to the GCH, wait for a monorail, wait for it to stop at the Grand Floridian, MK, and Contemporary, get off the monorail, and then get on the Epcot monorail. That could add on a lot of time to your trip to Epcot. There is a nice path from the Poly to the TTC that is just a short walk (5 minutes or so).
