Planning on visiting US/IOA July 24 and want to see the fireworks. We usually only come in the fall or winter, so have never seen them before. Where is a good place to watch from? (either park or both?)

From what I'm reading, the fireworks show will only happen at USF after July 4th. Quote from Screamscape.

"Orlando’s biggest fireworks show will return to Universal Orlando on July 4th at 9:50pm with pyro lighting the skies over Islands of Adventure, Universal Studios Florida and Citywalk. From July 5th to August 13th the fireworks will continue nightly at the Shooting Stars Fireworks show takes place nightly at 9:50, launching from the Studio Lagoon."

They don't mention anything about the show at IOA after July 4th. If that's the case, anywhere along the USF lagoon will be good. Just depends on how fast you wanna get out of there once the show ends. I've never seen the USF show. Does anything happen in the lagoon like the IOA show, or do all the fireworks go up?

Thanks for that info!

How early should we try to get a spot? Will it be insanely crowded?

Last year they had low displays near the lagoon to go with different US movie themes. There were also sky displays.....which leftover ash/sandy stuff rained down on our heads! We were sitting at the white tables at the lagoon's edge nearest to the ET area side of lagoon..... Another bad thing about leaving from mid-park after the fireworks.....no lights came back on! Don't know if that was an error or usual routine, but nothing like hordes of people trying to exit with no street lights!! We watched one night from inside right near the entrance of US.......ok view and got out quickly. We have reserved seating at the bottom of City Walk for the 4th CAN'T WAIT!!!

Is there an AP viewing area for the nightly shows, or just for the 4th of July?

i am new to being an AP member. what is this about an AP viewing area?
