Which building do you think is the best for the standard rooms at Pop Century? Any floor in particular better than othersfor a specific reason? Need some input!

Also, which buildings are preferred rooms and which are standard rooms? We will have a standard room.

:thanks: :disrocks:

We had a standard room in the 50's building, lake view on the 4th floor and loved it! From the balcony at night, you could look to the right and see Illuminations, pretty cool!

Absolutely agree! I stayed 4th floor, 50s section, facing the lake twice last year and it was so quiet you could hear a pin drop! I loved it. :teeth:

We also had a room on the 4th floor of the 50's building, and I would totally choose that area again. You could easily see Epcot and the fire works from the balcony. Our room faced the pool. We loved PC and would definitely book into there again on our next trip.

Depends on what you need. We always request a first floor room closest to the bus depot. And, the few times we have gotten that then our rooms have been amazing. We also stayed in the 50's area and it is very nice if you are on the right side then you can see the Illuminations and that is always a great way to end the day.

I always request a first floor in the 70's. This last trip we were right behind the big wheel on the front side. Awesome location!!

I was looking at the copy of my reservation from my travel agent and she actually put in the reservation a request for us to be in the '50s building on the 4th floor, facing Epcot. I made the reservation back in the beginning of Nov. and forgot that I had read a review on another site about rooms facing Epcot in the 50s building where you could see IllumiNations. I hope we get this now that I remembered. We'll be back in the room fairly early so the kids can go to bed normal time, and would love to see a bit of fireworks from right outside the room. Not totally necessary of course but would be nice!

Could you see IllumiNations from the window of the room or only if you step outside?

Thanks again,
Bonnie

We sat IN our room on chairs and watched Illuminations and Wishes :thumbsup2 and had their been a private party at MGM we would have seen those as well (we saw them the year before).

We were on the 1st floor in the 50's building #1. Very good location. Short walk to main building, Hippy Dippy Pool. :)

I am of the thinking that there is not a bad location at POP. I've been back of the 50s facing the lake twice and it was the longest walk to the main building and it still was not bad at all.

Also been back of 70s facing the lake, shorter walk, still great location.

There's not a bad spot at POP, but that's just my opinion. :)

70's building facing the lake (Mickey Phone Building) was the best standard room we've ever had at a value!

I don't think there's a bad spot at POP either. Our first visit we were in the 50's, which I loved and requested for the next trip. They couldn't accomodate the location (but did the connecting room which was more impt) and we were in the 90's. I was a little bummed, until my first walk to the bus stops. They were sooo close. It was great in the evening to have such a short walk, and in the morning when we were trying to catch the shuttles. We also avoided the walk though the gift shop (less temptation for the kids).

We've stayed in the 50s and 70s. I agree that there are few bad rooms. I would stay away from the ones right near the main pool-very noisy.

We stayed in the 50's building last year on the 3rd floor facing the top of the pool. It was a short walk to the main pool and the food court area... but far enough away from the noise of the busy pool. It was perfect for us.

I've been in 50's, bldg 1 ground level close to the parking lot, 50's bldg 2, third floor, way to the back, closest to Epcot, back side of 80's, facing the lake/parking lot, ground level, and 60's, facing the lake, third floor, toward the end of the bldg. They were all great spots. I have yet to have a bad location at POP.
Fireworks? Sure you can see them. But watching them from POP is no substitute for being in Epcot. You can only see the higher up ones. Same for MGM/Fantasmic..only the high in the sky ones. Just don't want anyone to be disappointed.

We were in the 50's last May...building 3 (Tramp) first floor, facing the lake all the way down the 2nd room from the far end, near the Jukebox building. Great location! In Feb of last year, we were in the 80's. Not sure what building #, but it was the Roger Rabbit building. All the way in the back of the building, right around the corner from the "Welcome to WDW" sign that goes across the interstate. It was VERY quiet, but seemed far away. Maybe because it was so darn cold???? We walked around there in May to look around, and it didn't seem far at all.

We stayed in the 60's facing the pool last visit and enjoyed watching the people. We leave in 18 days for our next Pop stay and the pictures on line further down in the 60's section facing the kiddie pool seem nice with a lot of pom trees, has anyone stayed in that area?
However, if I need a smoking area would I be better off with a lake view?

Can't wait to go
18 and counting....

How close is it to the food court/buses. Yes we want the best of both worlds, to see the fireworks and have the shortest walk possible! We stayed in the 90's last year and the walk was THE WORST! :goodvibes

can any one remember room numbers for the lake view rooms? We stayed there in October and loved it but have nothing with our room number on it and can't remember thanks for the help. 97 days until we go:banana:

I don't know much about Disney Resorts....but I do know about POP...we always stay preferred rooms pool view. It is not that much more $$ and nice and close to the food court (for all those refills), the bus and the main pool. Close enough to the bowling pin pool as well. I do like the Pop very much.
