I am heading to OKW in October 08 and just wondering what is the best location to request. I will be with a 1y/o and 2 5y/o boys. I hear some of the building are better than others and what about the river views. I am hoping for a grand villa but if that doesn't pan out I will get a 1bdrm and 2bdrm.

We stayed in building 55 last February. 2 BDR Villa on the second floor. It is next to a quiet pool, close to the bus stop, next to a walking path to SSR and Downtown Disney. Good view of the canal from the balcony. I believe this is the South Point Area.

We loved the location, but it is a bit far from the main pool, etc.

We stayed in building #15 once-that was our favorite location by far, and it had great views. Location-it was close to the HH, but far enough away to be very quiet.

Best views-Just about any building except #29

Best location- South Point because it's quiet, has great views and is the second bus stop for coming in late at night.

Second best location-Hospitality House area because it is last stop going out and you can get off at Peninsular and walk back easily on the way in. Also neasy access to the main pool if that is your want.

Best golf course view- anything along Miller's Road, plus #47 and 48

Best water views- #45, 46, 55, 56

Best quiet pool- Turtle Pond

Best elevator building- 62

Worst building view-#29

worst for parking-#64

We just got back from OKW and stayed in room #5413. We loved it! We were right by the quiet pool and bus stop. We did not like any of the areas close to the HH. I was not particularly impressed with the way OKW was designed and built with regards to the checkin/Olivia's Cafe/Pool/Bus Stop area. Everytime we were up in the front it was very loud and crowded. It is by far the most crowd bus stop.

Down by South Point was wonderful! Anything in that area was so quiet and beautiful. We had a 2 bd villa on the first floor with a beautiful view of the golf course. This is the area we would request again. We thought it might be a long walk to HH but it wasn't. It only took us 15 min and we took our time. It was a beautiful walk.

That said... word of caution regarding the South Point area - buildings 52, 51 - where you park is also the area where the buses turnaround. A major downfall for someone with little kids and for noise.

We requested building #25 and we were not able to get any closer to the front than #29 (which as many have already pointed out is a dreaded building). We were very happy with #54.

Check out this previous post... it has a map which shows where grand villas are and bus turnarounds.

I second that. We ended up in Bldg. 51 last summer (I normally request HH, but thought we'd try something different.) We have an 11 yr old and a 4yr and when we'd go to the car we'd have to be extra careful. The bus comes through that section as a turn around..don't know WHY they don't go to the circle?? And it can be loud. You can also hear the road. I did not care for that area and will stick to requesting HH from now on.
