Best location in BC for elderly in laws

We'll be staying in a 2 bedroom with my in laws who are in their 80s (one with a bad knee). I'd like to request a room location that would be easiest for them. Does anyone have any suggestions? I've never stayed at BC before so I'm not familiar with the resort. Thanks!

Probably a ground floor closer to the Ecpot side of the resort. That way, it is a shorter distance to the Boardwalk area and to Epcot. And even to MGM.

Would they use electric scooters? I know there are several places in Orlando that you can rent a scooter from for the length of your stay. They will drop them off right at your resort. Many folks say "oh they can get a scooter or wheelchair in the parks", but remember, there is a lot of walking to do outside the parks, especially in an area such as the BCV, where you have a fairly large resort and the whole Boardwalk at your disposal.

mother hates electric scooters - so I have to get a regular wheelchair - but this can be a good thing - these are FREE from bell services/front desk.

we have liked the rooms near an elevator.

I don't do first floor there - because some of the rooms are under a walkway and you can see everything in the rooms.....there is no guaranteed you won't be given those rooms.

I have a problem with this - the only resort we don't ask for a first floor.... so go the opposite - ask for a good view near one of the elevators (this place has several difference elevators - not at all like BWV) on the fifth floor.....

If you want information on how to get/how to rent scooters (ECVs) or wheelchairs, follow the link in my signature to the disABILITIES Board. The disABILITIES FAQs thread near the top of the board has contact information from off-site places to rent.
You can get wheelchairs (but not scooters) from your WDW resort, but they are first first come, first serve and there is no guarantee that they will have one when you ask.
