We have rented points and rented Villas for 10 yrs. We are thinking about buying a membership but can't decide on a home location. We have two grown children and two teens so we are looking for something that will work well for teens now and grandkids later. I know you use your points at other locations but I believe it is important to make an informed decision upfront so fewer changes may be needed. Thanks for your help!

We love the Beach Club for the location! We don't have teens yet, but I would imagine it would be really easy for them to walk to Epcot or the Boardwalk by themselves. Also, the future grandkids would love the pool area (Stormalong Bay).

My teens won't let us stay anywhere else other than SSR (easy access to DTD).

Another vote for SSR. Our 3 (19,19,24) love it there for ease of access to DTD. Also over spring break times they feel like there is more of a crowd their age and not just little kids. They do not mind taking he bus to the parks, as they just pop their iPODS on or use their DS on the way.

I second SSR. Our kids are 26, 24, 14, and 12. The resort is perfect for older children for the easy access to DTD also if your kids love to resort hop being near DTD makes that easier. We love to go to the GF for tea.

Also, later down the road when you have grandbabies the pool is perfect as it has the splash area and zero entry.

My teens (15 & 13) don't care. They are just happy going to Disney World. We do everything together while there though - so there is no going off alone - yet. We are new members and we are all looking forward to trying every resort. Animal Kingdom is booked for November!!!

We bought resale and our rep suggested that teens would go crazy with all the little ones at Beach Club and they would be too old to be impressed with Stormalong Bay.
We bought at the Boardwalk and they really like it and the accessibilty to Epcot and DS as well as the quiet pool.

It seems to me that you have a lot more experience with the different DVC resorts than I have! :thumbsup2 Have you always rented at the same resort, or have you rented at differenct resorts? What has your own personal experience been?

Heck, I think you should be advising me, with your renting experience! :)

That being said, as you can see from my signature, we have lots of home resorts! We have 3 grown kids and a couple of Grandkids. Our favorite, I have to say, is AKV. But we have all enjoyed each resort we've stayed in -- and we're looking forward to BLT, and the SSR Treehouses. I suspect the Treehouse Villas might just become a new favorite....

Boardwalk, for sure. We bought here in 2000. Our children, now 19 years old (twins) LOVE this area, and have loved it since we bought here. ESPN is very important to both of them, they like to watch the games and play in the arcade. They also love being able to go to Beaches and Cream at the Beach Club across the way, and they love the boardwalk bakery, pizza window, and sweet shoppe. In another year and a half they'll be able to go into Jellyrolls with us and add some more fun to the Boardwalk area, as well as being able to go to the only club left on property (DTD closed the clubs), Atlantic Dance Hall - 21 to enter. They also love the slide at the pool, it's long enough and big enough for adults, and being that they are still kids at heart (for a long time to come :) ) they enjoy using it. They also like the fact that there's mini golf just up the road (walking distance).

They only downfall to buying here is that it expires in 2042, whereas SSR and AKV expire in 2057 (anyone out there please correct me if I'm wrong).
However, since first buying in 2000, we've added on at BW twice, and part of me wishes my recent AKV (although I absolutely LOVE this resort) add on was also at the BW. It's just really our favorite place.

BTW, DTD is a short cab ride from BW, which is the preferred mode of transportation to get there for us. The bus is good too, but stops at the other Epcot area resorts as well. Cab is 5/6 minutes to DTD from BW.

Good luck with your decision.

My teen boys like BCV for the pool activities, music, and the babes. They also like SSR for the proximity to DTD and the recreation. Last summer the BCV was hopping with tweens and teens.
