We'd like to be close to the playground/pool area, but not in a building that is out of date, or run down. I understand that the buildings above number 30 have some nice features like two different entrances into the bathroom, etc. And the newest bldgs have elevators, but not sure what the layout is in order to make a really informed decision. I also don't know whether we want 1st or 2nd floor. Any areas that are much better than others?

Thanks - Danielle

We love staying at OKW and prefer the buildings that are close to the bridge and the lake with the fountain. These are buildings 24, 25 and 26 (one of these are smoking). The verandas over look the golf course and have lots of bunnies and ducks to feed.

We also like staying in 14, 15 and 16 - these are across the street from the main bus stop (very close to all the action). Not much scenery and may get a bit noisey (if you are a light sleeper) from the buses.

The other lot of buildings (new ones) are 61, 62 and 18 - they are across the street and about a block from the main bus stop.

These are our favorite buildings.

Good luck.

Laura

We love OKW!

Just to clarify a little... 25 used to be smoking but has been converted so 23, 24, 25, 26 are all non smoking in the first section over the bridge. 11, 12 (smoking), 13 and 14 are the ones across the street from the main bus stop at the Hospitality House. 62, 63, and 64 are the new buildings that have the elevators and are across the street on the other side from the Hospitality House. Here is a link to a thread on the DVC board that has the property layout.

Since Disney doesn't own OKW and individual members do, all the rooms are run down and out of date - NOT. Why would you even think that??????? We're protecting our resort by keeping it well maintained.
