We are not doing a dining plan and will probably be most comfortable at a food court with our then 6 year old, 2 year old, and 1 year old. Our 2 year old does not sit long lol and so in and out is best. I would love to do at least 1-2 sit down dinners...would love ones that would really appeal to that age group and keep them interested so more motion and such, character dinners would be a waste because they are just too young to care. Would prefer less than $25 a plate, but maybe in Disney that isn't possible lol, haven't looked at prices yet. Any ideas?

It really depends on what parks you are going to, what resort you're staying in, how far are you willing to go for a meal, will you be doing DTD, etc?

DHS has sci-fi which kids tend to like because there's a movie screen that plays old clips (movie trailers and cartoons). DTD has Rainforest Cafe and T-rex. Most Resorts have some kind of 'cafe' which are sit downs, such as Grand Floridian cafe, Kona cafe, Olivia's cafe. These are usually better quality food and more reasonably priced.

I know you said your kids won't care about characters but 1900 parkfare breakfast isn't too expensive and it has Mad Hatter, Alice, Tigger, and Marry Poppins. Very young child friendly.

We like The Plaza with little kids. There really isn't much going on there, but the food isn't very expensive and they have an extensive ice cream dessert menu.
Sci Fi is potentially a good option, but the car seating may make it difficult with the two little ones. the seating is like in a car - so benches that seat two or three across, which means you'd have to have one adult with the 1 kid and one adult with 2 kids.
Coral Reef is great because it has the huge fish tank, but it's not cheap.
If you are considering a character meal at all, we love Tusker House - better food and a little more interesting than most character meals.
Whispering Canyon in Wilderness Lodge has a ton of stuff going on all the time - songs, "pony" rides, people shouting. It's a fun time and easily accessible on a Magic Kingdom day.
