My dd is getting a leapster L Max for Xmas. (shhh! don't tell her!;) )

Just wondering what the best games are for her. She's not 5 yet, but soon. I'm assuming the Disney Princess Game? Any others?

Thanks for the help!

My 6yo. old DD is getting a Leapster for Christmas as well. I got her the Princess one, Pet Pals, Scooby-Doo (she loves him) and Number Raiders. I thought Pet Pals looked like something she would really enjoy. The other I considered were I Spy and Animal Genius.

Did you buy them early? I'm trying to find the games in stock online, and I'm not finding ANY.

I bought Scooby and Number raiders for $8 each in October on Amazon. The other two I got at Target for $19.99.

I just looked on Amazon. They seem to have some in stock! :)

My daughter like the spongebob game for leapster the best, she pretty much grew out of leapster by the time she was 7 though. She got it at 3 and loved it for a few years so she certainly got her use out of it! Now its all nintendo DS and playstation2 and Wii games!

My DS (5) and DD (6) love their Leapsters. Favorite games are Letters on the Loose, Ratatouille and Cars (the Pre-K one). My DS also likes the Backyardigans game.

Letter Factory, which is a Leapster video, is the BEST for teaching basic phonics. Both of my kids learned their phonics from that one.

I also like the Clifford game and the Kindergarten games for that age.

My kids ADORE their Leapsters. My 6yo plays it at bedtime every night, and my 3yo's play with their ALL the time, especially in the car. They pretty much like all their games equally. So far we have...

-Disney Princess
-Dora (Wildlife Rescue and Pinata Party)
-Cars
-I Spy
-Finding Nemo
-Number Raiders
-Mr. Pencil Draw & Write
-Backyardigans
-Incredibles
-Thomas & Friends
-Letter Factory

For Christmas they are getting Disney Princess Worlds of Enchantment, Ratatouille, Clifford, and Fosters Home for Imaginary Friends

lemondog-How do your kids like the Dora ones? They didn't get very good reviews online. Thanks!

DD loves her ISpy game. Also the art one, I am not at home so I can't check the exact title.

The Nemo game is good and she liked the Princess one, too.

Sadly she has graduated to Nintendo DS, more expensive games!

Jenn Lynn,

My 3yo's play both Dora games quite often. They have never complained, but then again they're only 3, lol! They mostly fight over Disney Princess and Nemo, though. I think in their world those are the 2 "best."

We have one of the Dora games. It isn't too exciting for the older crowd... match the baby animal with it's mother.. and that kind of thing. Pretty boring for a 6 year-old. DD3.5 plays with it from time to time.

Are they going to stop making the leapster now that they have the L-max out?

Thanks! Sounds like something DS will like next year. :)

I do worry that my dd won't like her leapster...she is into a lot of the "letter" type activities, since she is just starting to read. But we just got a Wii a few weeks ago, and she loves playing Wii sports and Wii play (among others.) So I am a bit worried that the leapster might be "past it's prime" now that we have introduced her to the Wii. I'm hoping that it will give her something to do on the road, etc.

Thanks so much for all of the game suggestions!
