What does everyone think is the best kept secret as far as restaurants go in WDW. Any place on property that just doesnt get the recognition it deserves. and what is it that makes this place great?

I think Mara at AKL, is a great place for counter service. It has the regular junk food (pizza) and it has great African food too. I absolutely loved the African stew; it was the best quick service food I've had at WDW.

I could tell ya... but then it wouldn't be a secret... :thumbsup2

Actually... I was really impressed by Citricos. I think it has a classy atmosphere with excellent food and service. We enjoyed it so much we are planning to head back there in a few weeks. :goodvibes

But shhhh... don't tell anyone!

Some of the bars n the deluxes, that also sell bar food are really good, and although not strictly resturants the food can make a meal, buying a couple of apps and it is a nice relaxing atmosphere.

We were so pleasantly surprised by Grand Floridian Cafe. One we kept talking about the remainder of the trip. And planning to visit when we go in....

Almost hate to say it, but I agree, Citricos! Great food, nice atmosphere.

We were quite pleasantly surprised by the CS food at POFQ.

TS-wise, I'd have to say the Grand Floridian Cafe. For a fantastic TS meal, lunch is especially economical.

Tangerine Cafe if you like Mediterranean food - one CS feeds two, it's yummy, and the seating has more atmosphere than more CS places

I agree. It was very good! We just ate there last week.

The food courts at POR, we ate a few dinners there and were very impressed

We love the atmosphere at Flame Tree BBQ in AK. OK, the food is run of the mill, but you can walk on the little paths to get a table overlooking the water, and the gardens, Expedition Everest, etc. We usually spend at least an hour there, just enjoying the scenery.

I agree!

Garden View Lounge at Grand Floridian. We have a tea for a late lunch or an early dinner. Where else can you sit in an Victorian era looking hotel eating a Victorian era meal? princess:

It is the Counter Service location in Morroco at Epcot :-)

I would also like to vote for Citricos. I was pleasantly surprised when we went there. Very nice, great service, great food...

Also, The Turf Club at Saratoga Springs. It is brand new and I don't really think it has gotten the recognition that it deserves, hubby and I really liked it.

I totally agree. Dinner at the GF Cafe isn't bad either.
