My DFiance and I are looking for a fun place to eat. He saw the pictures on another thread of the Whispering Canyons ketchup and thought that would be fun. My sister recommends Primetime Cafe, but that looks more fun if you have a bigger group. DF loves to be the center of attention and isn't afraid to be picked on.

What do you recommend?

I don't know about Whispering Canyon, but I would suggest 50's Prime Time. You do not have to be a large group since everyone in your section is encouraged to play along. Everyone there becomes "your cousin". It's really a lot of fun and the food is really good too.

We have never been to the 50's pime Time but we loved Whispering Canyon. Very good food and lots of fun. Be sure to tell them you want a LARGE drink, drop your silverware and ask for ketchup!

also consider the hoop dee doo review.. it's great.. especially if you have a birthday, anniversary, wedding etc while you're there.. they also pick people out of the crowd to do a little skit on stage..

my dh and i were married in disney in feb '03 and we had our rehearsal dinner at HDDR.. everyone thought it was a blast!! and my DH was called up on stage.. and we also had to get up and dance to a song because we were getting married the next day.. haha it was really a lot of fun!!!

These are both great places to dine. Food & service are great! I think you''' enjoy both, but be sure to make a PS.

Don't set your expectations too high. Some CM are more into the interaction than others.

We had a fine meal at Whispering Canyon with a CM who was very good and met our needs fine and provided enough interaction for us. But in our entire meal there, I never saw the "ketchup" event or anyone hassled for their Universal t-shirt.

Our family enjoys Whispering Canyon. We were there once when a teenage girl at another table was celebrating a birthday (14?) The waitress announced she had a life long desire to lead a large crowd in the "Hokey Pokey" (of course she was blushing and giggling), and they got everyone to stand up and play/sing along. It was really fun!

When you check in at the reservation desk, ask the hostess to seat you at a table where the server is really "into" the interactive play that goes on with customers. The hostess can usually tell who is on his/her A game and who isn't for that day. They will usually try to accomodate your request.
