Anyone have any good suggestions for not too pricey hotels (preferably near Universal) that have free tasty breakfast and/or kids eat free? I love not having to find a place for breakfast and love it even more when I don't have to pay for the kids :flower1:

I know about the Radisson Resort, but don't know of any others.

Thanks for any help! :flower1:

PS I posted a very similar post in the Universal section, but noticed this section get a few a more posts.

Homewood Suites serves a great FREE breakfast. scrambled eggs, scrambled eggs w/ bits of ham & veggies, bacon or sausage (they switch one with the other once the pan is empty), make your own waffles, fruit, danish, juices, etc. can fill up on a decent sized breakfast here.

We've been to Quality Suites twice. It's located on Canada Ave. just off International Blvd. Go to www.orlandosuites.com and you'll find a few owned by the same company.

I've read some good reviews and some bad. I tend to be a person that likes the better things in life, unfortunately, the money sometimes does not allow. That's why we chose Quality Suites. They have a full hot breakfast (eggs, sausage, bacon, fruit, bagels, juice, coffee, etc.) free every morning.

Every evening for 2 hours they serve free drinks. Yes, I mean free booze. Not that it's top shelf, but free is good.

The rooms are suites, so they fit 6. There is a micro and a fridge and a wet bar. Also, 2 tvs.

They also allow pets.

If you use the Orlando Magic Card the rate (offpeak) is $59. That price hasn't changed in a few years.

That's where we'll be going this April.

Hope this helps!!! :cheer2:

Thanks for your suggestions. I thought we were set, but we'll definitely need to be finding something, hopefully later this year.

Was the breakfast fairly decent at these places? We're fairly easy to please, but I can't handle yucky eggs :crazy2:

I'm not really a "breakfast person" but the food was pretty decent. I like crisp bacon and had to go through it a bit to find some. The pancakes were good (kind of hard to mess them us). I'm kind of picky when it comes to eggs (scrambled), they weren't to runny or too stiff and tough.

I would say that my whole family is picky about breakfast and we all thought it was pretty good. It's not like going to a 4 star hotel, but for the rate, it was pretty good. :flower1:

Holiday Inn Exprees on I-Drive was great. Stayed there for 7 nights in June for our Universal/IOA/Seaworld trip. Cereal, muffins, bagels, eggs, danishs, fresh fruit, orange/apple juice, coffee/tea....oh and the cinnamon buns (took a couple more of those with me each morning :earboy2: )
I believe thats the basics which were available every morning.

We will be staying at Comfort Suites Maingate East for the first 4 nights of our stay in a couple of weeks, and they offer a free breakfast. I think it is just the basics like cereal, toast, bagels, english muffins, hard boiled eggs, danishes, coffee, juice, milk, etc. It is an all-suite hotel, and we got an excellent rate of $50 a night. (if you search the threads in here, there is info on their "best price guarentee" and how to go about getting it) There have been great reviews of the hotel on here and at www.tripadvisor.com

Wow :earseek: ! That Comfort Inn got great reviews and I had never heard of it! Breakfast, suites and $50/night! I'm going to search for the best price guarantee, but in case I can't find it (I can never seem to get the Search function to work well for me :charac2: ), did you call them directly or try to book online?

Thanks! :flower1:

Kelma-

Here is how the "best price guarentee" works:
book online at www.choicehotels.com (make sure you book for Comfort suites maingate EAST, since there are other comfort suites in the area). After booking this, look online at hotelkingdom.com , hotels.com , expedia.com , and so on to see if you can find a better rate at the same hotel for the time of your stay that you had booked. If you do, go back to choicehotels.com and follow the link to their best price guarentee. follow the directions there and tell them you found a better rate of ____ on _____ website. They will get back to you right away (they did within a couple of hours for me), and they will give you the lower price that you found plus an additional 10% off and send you a confirmation of this. (make sure to save it!) Hope this helps, if you have any other questions, feel free to ask!

Thanks Jen! It was a big help. I did try the search, but as I said, I tend to be Search Challenged  . What a great price you got, I'll have to start checking frequently. Have fun!
