We were all set to go to WDW and stay in a Family Suite when we got the Disneyland bug again. The problem is, we're not sure where to stay. We always stay on-site at WDW, and even with 4dc, could stay at an AllStar resort.

What's our best/most comparable option in Anaheim? As I said, we currently have 4dc, and might have 5 by next spring. (We foster, and never know when we'll get a placement.)

Last spring we stayed at Best Western Raffles, and it was fine...but that's the point, it was just fine. If that's our best option, we can do it again, but we're looking for something nicer/closer.

We've heard great things about HoJo, but would our only option there be connecting rooms? And how cost-effective/available is that option?

Any help would be appreciated. :goodvibes

Try RI Maingate, we love it.

I agree. Residence Inn Maingate was a great choice for us when we stayed in December with a group of 7. We stayed in the Penthouse Family Suite that had a loft with King bed and bathroom, a bedroom downstairs with a bathroom and full/twin bunkbed, a sofabed in the living room near the fireplace and a full kitchen. They have a great hot/cold complimentary breakfast each day too. When I figured out the affordability of the room I did have to factor in that we would be saving on breakfast each day. Great place to stay!:thumbsup2

When we have that many people, we stay at Staybridge Suites. We can get a 2 bdrm. (sleeps 8) for a great deal through GetAwayToday, and the hotel has a great breakfast, plus an evening BBQ or snack 3 days a week.

I went in a group of 6 in February. We stayed at La Quinta. We bought our package through Disneyland.com for about $1500 which in cluded 5 day hoppers for 3 adults and 3 kids. Our room at La Quinta had two queens and a separate room with a pull-out couch. They also have rooms that have bunk beds. It worked out really well for us. They also have a cont. breakfast, but the food wasn't great... neither was the coffee. :)

Residence Inn Anaheim Resort Area/Garden Grove : Is this the RI Maingate?
If so it is 1-2 miles from Disneyland, did you use the Transit System or rent a car? If you used the transit system which is Complimentary with the room rate, how was it? How long did it take to wait for it at the beginning of/end of the day?

We like BWPPI for our family of 6. Can't beat the location and it was clean and a place to sleep, which is all we needed.

I think what you will find that most suites listed above do not give separation of the adults from the kids. I do not care for someone else sleeping in the same room with me other than my DGF.
Also, check out the type of food they offer and subtracted the guesstimated price from the room price. We value the hot breakfast and mangers specials.
