Best hotel for one night unplanned stay?

We are driving to Orlando from Saskatchewan and it is a 1 day and 19 hour drive. We mapped it out as best as we could and are leaving a day early just in case of unplanned stops. We figured that if we end up in Orlando a day early, we'll just stay at a hotel for one night, but I don't want to book anything in advance and end up not needing it. I'm assuming there will be something with an available room!
What would be our best choices for a one night stay (preferably under $100) that we don't have to book in advance and will still be a clean and decent hotel?
We aren't planning on having access to our 3g on our cell phone or ipad while in the USA so having a few hotel options and addresses in advance would be best.

I would suggest using priceline.com or hotwire.com to snag a deal. You can book as late as the day of arrival. Go to betterbidding.com to find out how to use these great sites.

I read this somewhere once, long ago- dont remember the specifics- but it seems like the c&v bureau keeps a log of hotel deals only available by walk in for same night only stays? Might be worth calling to ask.

I got a great deal at the Plaza hotel in the superior tower rooms (I can't remember if that was the name but it was the top part of the towers) for right at $100 including all the fees. It was through Mousesavers. We really liked the hotel last year for the night we stayed before checking into the Contemporary!

stop at any Florida rest stop - pick up several of guides - generally find the green one best for the hotels that I like - there is generally a phone number you can call that will help you - if your first choice is full.
