We are heading to Disney in March. Our other 4 trips have been in the fall (October) and we have always stayed at the All Stars on site for less then $89/night. For March the Values are $130. I'm not sure I really think the Values are worth that much. I'm thinking we could get a lot nicer hotel off site for $130. So give me your opinions on hotels in the $130 range off site. We are only going to Disney 2 days and 1 day at Universal and the rest of our trip will be in the Ft Myers area. We will have a rental car regardless of where we stay. I look forward to everyones opinions.
Thanks!

What are the dates? March is peak season, and all places will be higher. Just for laughs, I checked 3/11-17 on Hotelkingdom, and lots of places were showing no vacancy. If you post your dates, we might be able to give suggestions. A $130 hotel during that time might be only $69 right now.

you can't get the 4 star hotels for that price - unless you get lucky on priceline.

they are - Ritz-Carlton, the Marriott j&w, Gaylord, rosen.

here are some discount sites

www.hotelkingdom.com
www.hotelmartusa.com
www.expedia.com
www.travelocity.com

that say - you do realize that WDW has new tickets. It does not pay to buy a 3 day pass....

go visit
www.mousesavers.com

get on her mailing list (email) - she will send you a discount page for tickets.

I know it is hard to believe but buying a 7 day ticket now - will save you money later if you put the no expiry on it.

so be sure to put money aside for the longer ticket.

wow, $130 for Values! I'd be looking elsewhere, too.

How about Chypress Pointe or the Residence Inn in LBV?

For two nights, depending on # of people, I might try Priceline.

herc.

Lisa, I forgot it was March - spring break....

you are correct - it will be expensive no matter what!

Don't know what skyauction is, but have seen some unbelievable rates from posters who used skyauction. Hope it helps!

skyauction works best for people staying a week - she only wants to stay a couple of days.

yes I got a great bargin - $211 for a 1-bedroom for a week!!!!

We only need hotels March 11th & 12th (maybe the 13th) - We are staying with friends (at their house) the rest of the trip. Thanks for all your help!

We have four of us traveling. DH & Myself, 15 DS & 14 DD (who is autistic) and needs some of her own space!! :)

Here are some suggestions for places I found on Hotelkingdom.com:

Summer Bay 2 BR condo $148.62/night (down hwy 192 near the US 27 intersection)

Parc Corniche 2 BR suite $120.36/night, 2 BR deluxe (2 bathrooms!) $143.96/night (on International DR, more conv to universal than Summer Bay)

There are other places cheaper, but most them are one room. I did not list them because you said your daughter needed some space and I thought these 2 BR's would be better.

I would try renting points from a Disney Vacation Member to stay in a studio. I am surprised by how reasonable this option is compared to off-site hotels. You can check the DVC boards for help & info.

March is the height of Spring Breaks. This means little deals to be found at that time. I'd still try searching some of the discount sites. I am sure you'll be able to find something decent for that price range.

Hi Leah's Mom, I would take a look at Buena Vista Suites and Radisson. Both hotels are nice and located with easy access to the parks.

Buena Vista Suites has it so everyone in the party gets a free full breakfast buffet each day.

Radisson has great pricing and they have transportation to Dsiney theme parks, SeaWorld and Universal.

Just a note those travel dates are going to have pricing that is probably the highest of the year due to spring break.

What about renting a townhome or a villa? These rates are usually an excellent value.
