We have our list of Sea World hotels but curious if I am missing any great hotels out there between Sea World and WDW? We prefer hotels not timeshares.

There isn't much that is 'in between' SW and WDW. The ones that are along the south end of I-drive are timeshare properties but you can book as a hotel stay....the nicest, IMO, are the Fountains and Floridays. The Marriott Grande Vista is closer to SW but is fantastic....it is a timeshare but can be booked like a hotel. There are several other Timeshares between SW and WDW.....Sheraton Vistana Resort and Sheraton vistana Villages, The Worldmark, Hilton Vacation Club at I-drive and the Lake Buena Vista Resort. There are a few more on the other side on the I-4.

Caribe Royale is a hotel but closer to the WDW side....very nice place though.

Thank you. I looked at the timeshares too. We don't want to be bother by high pressure sales pitches and don't want to be treated differently as just one time guests. They do look nice.

I think I am adding Marriott Harbor Lake to the list. It is in our price range and available for our dates. So Springhill Suites(an official Sea World hotel with the perks) or Marriott Harbor Lake.

I can tell you that Marriott VC does not bother you or treat you any differently. I just stayed at the Grande Vista in August. We were treated better than any other hotel I have ever stayed at. The entire staff from front desk to maintenance went out of their way to be friendly and social every time we encountered them....even just passing in the hallway. When we needed something they were immediately on it and did a follow up later to make sure we got what we wanted.

As far as the timeshare pitch we were called once in our villa and invited. I said we were unsure but would discuss it and get back to them. We never heard from them again. BTW, the invite was very nice.... if you have the time we would love to see you type offer. Marriott VC is know for a true no pressure type sales pitch.

Thank you for sharing your experience with Marriott VC. That helps a lot for making our decision and not ruling out the vacation clubs near Sea World.

I'd have to say this is same with Hilton Grand Vac Club. There's one right across from SW and also one on Intnl Dr. We've stayed at both, LOVED both, and was never hassled or treated any differently than any other stay. Most TS resorts have inventory that is rented out similar to typical hotel bookings except they are condos. Sure, you might get a polite invitation to attend but no pressure at all.

I think it's different if you are staying at a cheap rate in exchange for having to tour the resort & attend a sales pitch. Not all TS resorts are that cheesy. Just saying don't necessarily rule out all TS resorts. It's nice to have the space & separate bedrooms.

Good news! We just booked Marriott Grande Vista. I showed my husband a very nice video I found on youtube of the resort. We also found a great rate directly on their website ($135 per night with $30 daily credit for food/drinks)-1 Large guestroom with KING and sofa bed. We have one 13 yr old DS. He said he doesn't mind sleeping on a sofa bed. I think this will be a good resort for us for our Sea World trip. We are regular guests at the WDW moderate level resorts. Seems to me even the large guestrooms offer more than the WDW rooms.

You will love it! Try to get into building 79 or 84...or as close as possible. That way you have easy access to one of the big pools and also at that pool is the Copa Loca bar. The bar has a nice menu that is not to bad price wise. Even though it's a 'bar' it's very family friendly.

Be advised that the 'guest rooms' do not have a kitchen or washer dryer. All they have is a mini fridge.

We absolutely loved the MGV. The only thing that was a minor negative for us was the location. We found that we constantly were driving over to the WDW area to shop or dine. Even with that in mind it would be very hard to pass up on a future stay at MGV.
